Get his Primadona Butt out of here. I would love to get 2nd and probably and late second day pick for him. Taylor could also be traded for another player. We shall see, but the rumor is out already. Jason Taylor next year wont be a Miami Dolphin

I have no problem with trading Jason Taylor for a second rounder, except that I bought his jersey this year.....LOL. He has been a good player for us and I think that he has a few years left in the tank. We are in a rebuilding mode and could use the extra draft pick. Let him go and wish him the best.
-
the franchise is at an all time low.
-
saban should have traded taylor when he took over after the 04 season. we might've gotten as much as two #1's (in consecutive years) for him then; cam/randy should have traded him this offseason, we could've gotten a 1st and 4th at worst for the reigning defensive player of the year.
now we've used him up for yet another wasted year, and we'll get less for him than we ever could have.
these are the personnel blunders that plague this franchise, and the reason why we are in such poor shape. -
-
Let him leave and pick up a draft pick. I love JT and he's still one of my favorite players but he's played what 11 great seasons with us and at his age just trade him off to soemwhere that has a chance to give him the ring he deserves.
-
Great, get his butt out of town. His penalties at the begin of the season cost us at least one game, he should think about it. Too bad we can't trade him now to the Colts so he can help them to beat the *Pats.

Not really breaking news in my opinion. Any sane person knows that deep down Taylor wants to play for a winner and knows he doesn't have any more years left. We are quite a bit away from being a contender, so it only makes sense for him to want to leave. We all know he hates losing and wants to be on a winning team. Heck, he almost retired after last year's losing season just so he didn't have to deal with it again.
However, he is never a player that will go to the media and say, "I want out and I want a trade now!". He will also never say he wants to 100% remain here, he will say it is up to what the organization wants to do.
Fact is, if Miami gets compensation they like, he will be traded. If a team throws a 1st round pick or even a top 2nd round pick(probably no later then #40 overall), you know Miami will bite. However, if they don't get what they want, Taylor will remain with the Dolphins. You know what else? Unless he decides to retire, he will play for the Dolphins in 2008. -
He might want out of miami but they said in there little story that he hasn't said he wants out of miami when he comes on and says he want out of miami and he doesnt like the coach then i will believe it
-
Good riddance. For either a 1st rounder, or a combination of a 2nd and 3rd rounder, I'd personally drive him to the airport.
-
wow i feel bad for jason if he keeps it up he could be a hall of famer with all the sacks he gets but if were looking toward the future we need a 2nd
-
I betcha the Redskins would part with their first for him
-
Folks, this is rebuilding, the only things that really matter are:
1. Value
2. Cap ramifications.
That said, I really hope we can find JT a team that is contending for the Super Bowl Crown, and that he wins that ring and makes the HoF, and that he goes into the HoF wearing the a number #99 miami dolphins jersey. -
More along the lines of Green Bay or the NY Giants or maybe the Cowboys.
The only team I can see in the AFC would be the Chargers or maybe the Broncos.
A #1 or #2 from one of those teams would make sense for both teams.
* Edited to add yes I know we already have the chargers #2... -
what about indy?

Trade'em...........

Didn't know so many people had a problem with Taylor. His career is winding down and it doesn't look like the Dolphins are going to be anything more than a whipping boy for the rest of the NFL. I can't blame him to try and chase a ring. It's not like he's Junior Seau retiring and then signing with the Patriots. I hope Mueller isn't as big of an idiot as I think he is and trades him out of conference.

It's funny we don't have players giving a whole lot of public support for Cameron (compare to Joe Torre when he was taking heat). I think Cam has simply lost this team, the guys just don't want to play hard for him. In the case of JT, he has little incentive to play hard because the schemes he has been used in this year just didn't suit his talents very well (although he is still very good). You might make this argument for other guys too, Porter, Jason Allen early on, Lorenzo Booker
As much as I like JT as a star player, he is not a bigtime leader on this team and we can afford to trade him if the price is right. Zach is the real heart and soul of the fins, and I hope we keep him as long as possible. -
That said, it has been mentioned that "We" are only getting half the story, Traylor for example, said that Cam had been "Rock solid".
But a vote of confidence on a team that is winless in the NFL is absurd, no one will come out and say that... -
Let me guess...this came from profootballtalk.com (sigh)...
In any case, if Taylor does want out (and everything seems to point to that) then I'm sure we'll get some good value for him.
I wish him nothing but the best. -
I could see him going to Washington, Jacksonville, Carolina, and maybe even Green Bay.
I understand the a lot of people are mad because they think Taylor has been complaining too much, but wouldn't you be if you have been losing for the past 3-4 years? You just come off of a DMVP season and your team still isn't winning? The guy deserves to be on a contending team and I don't blame him for wanting out. After all he's done for this team, I think it's ok for him to ask for a trade out of here. -

WOW Now the Fin Heaveners are turning on Jason Taylor? Whats next cursing Don Shula for calling Cam-Moron a failure as a coach?
Lets get rid of everyone that disagrees with Cam the greatest coach in Dolphin's history. You will see after going 0-16 he is going to take the Fins to the Superbowl with all those draft picks and Hawain players he loves so much. -
Taylor wants to play the "Jack" LB in the 3-4.
The 3-4 teams I can think are the Pats, Jets, and the Browns.
The Steelers are going to the 4-3.
Any other guesses? -
well you know why we never won when jason was in his prime, quality people dont act like him when times get hard, they lead, they dont quit
-
would you want jason next to you in a fox hole
-

I think it depends on whether Cam is fired or not and who the new coach would be .
Wayne is supposed to talk to some of the players after the season is over and that would include JT.
JTs opinion may hasten Cams demise.
If the new coach is more to his liking he may stay.I certainly hope he does because he has had an outstanding carreer at Miami ,one that is sure to get him in the ROH.
IMO its bad business to give up a perennial all pro for a second round pick especially if you dont trust the regime which is doing the picking.
Personally I have lost all faith in the Ran-Cam team and giving them another year will only delay the inevitable.hof13 likes this. -

My own opinion is that the defensive schemes aren't playing to our player's strengths. JT is not the only player who has alluded to that. I believe that Cam has lost the team for that reason. In other words they have no faith in his way because his way isn't working.
In addition, I'm amazed at how many fans are all of a sudden turning on JT. This is the same guy who restructured his contract more than once to help free up money. And the same guy who after several years of success as a 4-3 down lineman, was still willing to try playing the OE in Saban's defensive scheme. Jason Taylor has been a team first player his entire career in Miami, but now according to some fans he needs to go because of his attitude?
FYI, that article referred to at the start of this thread even stated that JT has NOT asked to be traded.
