Ross actually considered selling the team after he couldn't get funding for the stadium upgrades? Damn what a missed opportunity.

Not a bad article. Except for Philbin, our FO is worlds different than it was a few years ago, and for the better.

I'm not worried in the least about losing Randy Starks. His play dropped off big time last year and I feel he is on the downslide bigtime. As far as Odrick, he was agood player but not great. I think I'll miss his PeeWee Herman sack dance more than anything.

I think the D Line is better than it was last year and I'm not even adding Suh into the mix yet.

Jeff Darlington's the most Dolphins-biased national media member that I know of (excluding former Dolphins players), he's the anti-Heath Evans.
    Good article, nonetheless...

I don't think he's that biased. He's just not a clueless pessimist, which also makes him the anti-Mando/Kelly. I miss his reporting with the PBP.

I can't remember Darlington ever criticizing the team/coaches/decision makers....with the way he talks about us you'd think we were actually a successful franchise.

Something wrong: Wallace ends season on bench. Tannehill ends season on ground. Dolphins end season with loss. Philbin ends season with job.

Guess I worded it wrongly, I didn't mean he never criticizes the Dolphins... what I meant by Dolphins-biased is that he actually acknowledges the Dolphins existence way more than your average national media, and whenever he writes/talks about the Dolphins you can tell he wants the franchise to succeed.

This is a good example of what I mean... most national media guys didn't even care about the Dolphins after they flamed out at the end of the season.

I've given LBa lot of crap in the past for being an avid Firelander, but he was on the money about Ireland.

While I think this team is still one draft and one top tier head coach from being a legitimate playoff contender. I have to agree that the front office has done a solid job of upgrading the talent on the roster in the last two years.

Now if Tannebaum can just find a quality head coach after the 2015 season and he and Hickey have a productive draft in 2016, as well as Tannehill continues to develop, the Dolphins should be a real threat in the AFC in 2016.

No he wasn't. He acts as if Ireland is the worst GM of all time. He wasn't even the worst GM to work for the Dolphins.

Wanny was the worst thing that ever happened to this franchise. Every last bit of hell we've gone thru has been his fault. He set this team back for almost two decades. He pushed out Marino and squandered the careers of Thomas & Taylor (and Surtain & Madison & Ricky). Any other coach with the roster he had, we'd have been in Super Bowls.

I honestly believe if he had a good GM he could have taken the team to the playoffs and maybe the superbowl. His desire to stick with Fielder and baffling picks. Say what you want about Ireland, however other than Pat White, none of his first or 2nd or 3rd round picks were as baffling as anything Wanny did. Jamar Fletcher didn't make sense, Miami didn't need a cornerback at all, especially a zone cornerback. Eddie Moore made zero sense, Miami didn't really need linebackers and he was considered a 5th round prospect.

I guess he's just filling a role that hasn't been filled yet in the media. The guy that tells fans what they want to hear about the Dolphins instead of the truth. Capitalism at its finest.

You do know his family moved from Detroit to Miami when he was a freshman in HS. Not much of stretch to think a 14-year old boy would adopt his new home town team.

if you think about it, every fan has a right to be pissed at our team..Im the kind of fan who will re- calibrate every year because the dynamics of football always change, and, logic tells me to take the past and project it onto the present team is illogical.

I don't get why you guys give LB such a hard time. He's bashing a bad team that he wishes was much better. Are we supposed to be happy or positive about a perpetually bad franchise?

Lol maybe. He did say that Tannehill's contract is team-friendly though. If I'm not mistaken we can opt out after two seasons. It's more of a pay as you go type of deal like Kaepernick and Dalton got.
