Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that tackle Jermon Bushrod is also slated for a visit with the team. Bushrod played for Gase when Gase was the offensive coordinator of the Bears last season.
Bushrod opened last season as Chicago’s starter at left tackle, but didn’t get his job back after suffering a concussion in the third week of the regular season. Prior to that, he’d been a mainstay in the starting lineup for the Saints and Bears since 2009.
Bushrod probably won’t be available for much of the offseason program because he had shoulder surgery last month that has a recovery timeline of several months. If he does sign in Miami, he’d likely compete with Sam Young, signed on Wednesday, for a job backing up left tackle Branden Albert and right tackle Ja’Wuan James.
If he doesn’t, he could land with the Vikings as Ben Goessling of ESPN.com reports they’re “monitoring” the former Bear’s status. They’re also expected to visit with Andre Smith, though, and landing him might satisfy their desire to add a tackle.

I would like to add some quality depth at back up. Something that we sorely lack.

Bring back Jake Long. Let him play guard.
