This FO spent a third round pick on Patrick Turner a year ago.

 

I defended the FO for passing on Anquan b/c of his age/playing style. But not trading a 4th or 5th rounder for Holmes is hard to explain. :no:

 

i dont know how the hell the Jets got him so cheap. my only guess is that he has a suspension coming, and the steelers didnt want any part of it.

He's overrated, he has been ever since he made that catch at the SB. He's a good wr, but he's nothing spectacular.

 

79 catches, 1248 yards, 5 TD... 26 years old... FIFTH round pick.

Whether or not he's overrated is one thing, but if you think you're going to do better in the 4th round this year... end well it will not.

 

You've watched Dolphins games right?

 

I think the money aspect is playing a big part of it too plus the suspension. It's still a head scratcher though.

Really this just sucks on so many levels. First of all he goes to the Jets for next to nothing and 2nd that we didn't make a better offer. Holmes is easily worth our 4th or perhaps even our 3rd. Tell me one WR we could get in the 3rd that is better than Holmes.

Santonio Holmes to the Jets for a 5th round pick? A 5th round pick? Let's put aside for a moment that's a rediculously low price to pay for such a productive Wide Receiver. But why the hell didn't Miami jump in on that? Are we so oblivious to the need at WR to pass on Holmes for a 5th round pick? Our 5th rounder would have been higher than the Jets.
