The Jets' home opener against the Patriots is scheduled during Rosh Hashanah. The next week, the Jets host the Titans hours before Yom Kippur starts. The conflict with the two holiest holidays on the Jewish calendar may keep the team's Jewish fans who observe the holidays from attending.

New York boasts the country's largest Jewish population.

On Wednesday, the Jets called the NFL to complain about the scheduling conflict, according to the New York Daily News.

Now, the Giants called the NFL way before the schedule was made and asked about this and the NFL said sure, we will work with you.

Talk on WFAN is the Jets never called despite what Katz is saying, when an NFL owner calls you, they call back.

Also, I understand the whole holiday thing, but they play on Christmas day for goodness sakes, and that's a pretty big holiday!

The Jets didn't, the Jewish Jet fans did.

This whole thing is ridiculous, it really is. I mean, who gives a ****? If you're Jewish and a Jesus Freak and cant make the game, put the tickets up on StubHub. For New England, you'll easily make 2 or 3x face and for Tennessee you will easily get face as well.

Maybe they can get the Jet / Titan game moved to 1pm for the whole sun setting thing for the Jewish fans that day, but thats about all the NFL could do.

Rosh Hashanah is the New Year. Does the NFL play on New Year's. And Yom Kippur is the BIGGEST Jewish holiday. And its not like Christmas that most people dont give a **** about the religious part. In Yom Kippur, its all about the religious part and you have to fast for an entire 24 hours

I think I am going to write a letter to the NFL complaining about games being played on Sunday. I think it would fit my schedule and drinking habits better if they moved them to Friday night or Saturday.

The league did just change the game against the Titans to a 1pm kickoff. Saw it on the ESPN ticker just a few minutes ago.

Now both the Giants and JEST play at 1 that day.

    Yep.

Jets & Giants will play at 1pm on seperate networks which hasn't been done in I don't know how many years. Probably a few decades.

I hope they next complain about PSL's.

I really don't have a problem with it, if it's in the best interest of the game, then so be it:up:

    I don't look at it as the Jew's 1, NFL 0.

The league has done favors for us before with the schedule, so this is really no big deal. Plus game times get changed a lot anyway during the season, not the flex either.
