Yep - he's out. They're talking on Sports Center about some opt out clause in Parcells' contract and that Woody may be very interested in talking with him. Anyone think he'll leave?

I dont, he loves the life in South Fla. He gets to Golf all the time, and he gets to hang out on the patio.....I think he likes it here. But you never know with Tuna. I hope he doesn't.

Why didn't Farve get an MRI a month ago-

And the answer is its up to the player to get an MRI??? If I'm Woody Johnson I fire tananbaum on the spot for that answer.

if i had to guess, Bill Cowher is going to get a pile of money thrown at him by... Jerry Jones. i'll bet that he has already discreetly made overtures to Cowher. and he won't be outbid. but what he also won't do, is get caught up in the moment and let go of Wade today, or before the playoffs are over, so as to get the most publicity for his organization from the move, and himself.

if Cowher comes back this next season, i don't see him doing it in N.Y.

of course, i didn't see Chad Pennington leading Miami to the playoffs, eliminating the Jets in the final game, ending Brett Favre's career, and costing Erin Mangini his job, this season either. so i could be wrong.

Wow the Jets are really going overboard with this one. I agree Mangini wasn't a great coach with a 23-25 record but out of 3 seasons he had two winning seasons and after a 4-12 season he rebounded at 9-7 a five game increase even with the 1-4 finish. I bet the Lions would take that, but I guess the Fins have really sent shock waves through the league. Now everyone will think a 1 year turnaround will be possible.

You are giving the Phins too much credit. this firing was long in the making. No matter the outcome of yesterdays game, Mangini was gone.

I was just watching Woody Johnson talking about the possibility of Favre coming back next year. He said that it was up to Favre, but then said "he still hasn't been in a training camp yet, and that will give him another year to get more comfortable with the system they have".

WTF does that mean? They don't have a system, they just fired the guy running it!

i doubt if the Jets made the playoffs, Mangini was going anywhere. and even still, how is it his fault Brett Favre made so many really bad decisions down the stretch with the ball, or that his shoulder has been hurting for several weeks.

i guess they COULD blame him for not benching Favre, but i have a feeling Kellen Clemens QB'ing down the stretch would not have gone over well in NY. nor would benching a legend, of course.

all in all, i am still happiest for Chad Pennington.

Whomever they bring in, their first job should be to fire Tennenbaum(sp?). What a joke that he sits there talking about the firing of Mangini. He's just as much or ,IMO, much more responsible for their failures. Mangini didn't bring in Favre. Mangini didn't sign all of these expensive free agents. Mangini didn't pick a bench warmer with their high first round pick and he sits there acting like he didn't have a hand in the mess they're in. He seems like such a meat head. =D I guess the head coach is always the one to take the brunt of the blame first.

Because his shoulder only hurts when he makes a bad play.
