This might be meaningless depending on the new CBA. However, it does show you that we are trying to get EVERYONE re-signed, and I honestly think we might be talking to Braylon Edwards behind closed doors. Pretty good news!

Is it possible that the new CBA will be the same as the old CBA in terms of RFA?

Very likely, which is exactly why this will be meaningless. Under the terms of the expired CBA, Holmes, DeAngelo Williams, and a bunch of other guys being tagged as RFAs actually qualify for unrestricted free agency. They have the requisite years of service. Most of these guys were supposed to be free agents after the 2009 season, but opting out of the CBA extended by one year the cutoff for unrestricted free agency.
When a new CBA is ratified, in all likelihood the franchise tags will still apply and the RFA tenders will not.

I just want a new agreement to get reached. The thought of no football for an entire season makes me sick.
