http://sports.yahoo.com/news/female-kickers-nfl-tryout-lasts-222419569--nfl.html You know this story would not work anywhere else, except the Jets. If it were any other team she'd be kicking 50 yard field goals.
This really is other NFL. It was a regional combine event, not like the Jets were giving everyone a tryout for their team specifically.
I'll go ahead and say it, if she does make those kicks and shows a decent leg for kick offs...I'd sign her. The Dolphins would instantly become national headlines and the first team a new generation of fans (women) look to. That will put butts in seats.
well, watching her 2 kickoff attempts that went 13 and 17 yards, I felt bad for her. Even I could do that.
Everything I've read indicates she is a better kicker than her tryout suggested. I think the quad injury screwed her up.
She was there to sell her video game is what NFL Network people were saying. The "tryout" was a way for her to get attention for it.
Oh of course she is, or she would have never gotten the try out. I'd be scared to sign her. How many times does a returner only have the kicker to get by and score a TD? That would kill special teams. Now, if you say she's only a FG kicker, well that burns a roster spot. No way no how unless she looked like Nick Mangold with long hair.
By the way ... what I've read since indicates I was WRONG. Publicity stunt. My bad for assuming the best.
Remember how the Jets handled that Hot mexican reporter a few yrs back in their Locker Room? Who in their right mind would let them have a female kicker anywhere near that Team!? Better have a Lawyer on call...........
When I saw that her kicks only went 15 yards or so it boggled my mind. I didn't understand why she was even trying out if she could only kick the ball that far. Then I read that she injured herself on the first kick. Probably trying extra hard to impress and it cost her. I also agree with Fin D, I'd sign her too if she had any kind of benefit to the team.
