Joe Philbin addresses questionable decisions

I'd have to rewatch the game, but I'm pretty sure that the announcers were saying something along the lines of kickers make it more often than the miss it when iced once, and that percentage even increased when a second timeout is used.

Perhaps someone with Rewind can go back and catch what they were actually saying.

 

80% w/ the timeout.

75% w/out the timeout. I believe those were the numbers.

 

Interesting actually, especially on difficult kicks. Your chances of making it on the 2nd try are better than the 1st, since you've already had a warmup shot. The chances of missing the 2nd kick after making the 1st, is no riskier than not having a 2nd try at all !
