Well, take Clayton's words for what they are and feel free to disregard RotoWorld's analysis as no one knows what Sparano will do, I suspect if Thiggy plays well Henne will sit longer, if not, then he plays sooner.

Oddly enough, I trust Clayton as a source more than I do the Miami beat writers...

If Thigpen can keep the INT to a minimum, he has a shot. The kid is a baller. Big plays should go up. Which is also the reason I expect the INT to be there.

Clayton is just speculating. Henne could be back for the Oakland game or could not. Time will tell.

Tyler Thigpen should have started last week. A much better #2 if you must bench Henne
The Pennington hiccup was a big mistake. Told you so during the week.
You going to be a Ramsey cheerleader if this goes bad....

I think Henning will call more routes along the sidelines Zod to try and minimize Thiggy Ball Sailing Syndrome leading to int's.

That and more high percentage stuff underneath to Bess and Fasano, Thiggy has a nice touch on the ball in that 7-15 yd area, better than Henne's imho.

Not asking much of Thiggy, "welcome new starting Qb, we have a game this Thursday, and it is a must win, and we know half your game is running with the ball, but could you knock that off you are all that is standing between us and Pat Ramsey..thanks"

Padre, This is a Tampa 2. There will not be many surprises from the defense. Everything underneath (including the run and screens) should be expected and should have some degree of success. The ballgame will be about execution.

Oh I know, and they are not good at putting pressure on the Qb even with Peppers who has 2 sacks this year, my one concern with Thiggy is occasionally the ball sails on him and that plays right into the Tampa Two's design, the Bears have 3 wins against 1 or 2 win teams, but those turnovers can just kill us.

Would be nice if the running game showed up.

Padre, the previous post was not directed to you. I'm on a phone. I cannot quote and I probabl should not be posting.

No, the moronic statement before the Pennington start was "Pennington will flourish because the offense was taylor made for him." As if there was some grand conspiracy to lose just to spite Henne.

Pod you seem more concerned about tipped balls and want to play the sideline game. I say sit in holes in the zone in the middle. Play short. Take what you get.

    Been called worse..:D

Do think the offense fit Pennington, also think it doesn't matter now, Chad P is done even I have to admit it.

I also think Thigpen will hit some big plays vs the Bears.

I'd be a little nervous calling a lot of sideline routes that depend on timing with a quarterback who hasn't had much time to work with these receivers. I agree with KP and would try and hit on routes over the middle. Bess and Fasano all night.

The thing Thigpen brings to our offense is the ability to keep plays alive with his feet and even run for some nice chunks of yards. That's very exciting especially with a banged up offensive line. If Thiggy can stay away from boneheaded mistakes and trying to force the ball to un-open receivers (Marshall) than I think we can have a lot of success with him.

Killer, you have to remember the key difference between Tampa 2 and Cover 2. The linebackers will drop deep AND shallow in this game. If they drop deep that hole in the middle of the safeties gets extremely small. The difference in the zone drops is the read for the QB. It moves fast and it ain't easy.

If Tyler Thigpen can recapture the magic from 2008? I'm assuming Clayton isn't referring to his 1-10 record.

Look at the defensive stats of the 2008 Chiefs... Thigpen's offense scored enough points to win 8 of those 10 losses. One game, the defense gave up two touchdowns in a minute-30...
Don't just look at the win loss ratio.

Thigpen's offense scored enough to win 8 of those 10?

In 5 of those games KC didn't score even 20 pts. In 3 of the games he saw significant action the team scored 14 or less. In one of the games I'm sure you're saying the offense played good enough to win (the Jets game), in the 4th quarter Brandon Flowers had a 91yd pick 6 to give KC the lead 24-21, so that would be another game where his offense scored 14 or less. In the 2nd chiefs Broncos game (a game KC only scored 17), 7 pts came off a pick 6 by Maurice Leggett (so only 10 offensive points). And they scored 31 pts against us that year, but Thigpen also threw 3 picks and fumbled twice (neither lost), so it's not all the defense's fault there. In the Chiefs lone win under Thigpen, the offense got 1 TDs and 2 FGs. The 2nd TD came from a fumble return by that terrible defense for a TD.

I'm not trying to say KC's defense didn't have a good bit to do with their record, but it's naive to say Thigpen's offense scored enough to win 8 of those 10 losses IMO.

And I'm not even saying Thigpen is bad, I'm more criticizing Clayton's choice of words. I've said before Thigpen is talented enough to give us the best QB play that we've seen since 2008.

I'm expecting the return of the run game. I know it is a hard week to do it but I think it happens. Just as they should have leaned on Ronnie in Baltimore. The O-line has stepped up in the big games. I know there are injuries but I just see it happening...

    Heres how I see it....

Heres Tylers chance...he can take it by the balls...and never look back. If that happens so be it.....Im very happy having two young QB's that have very good chances to become legit starters in the NFL. Good problem to have as I see it....

With the way Mike Vick has been playing...if Tyler Thigpen goes off this season.....the QB who can makes plays on his feet and with his arm will become a premium in the NFL. Which means...he may actually cost the Phins more to resign than Henne. According to KFFL...Thigpen is a UFA next season....sooo...he's not only playing for our playoff chances...at 26 he's likely playing for what will be his best chance at a very good contract.

It will be interesting for sure.....

I dont see the Phins tying up big money in Thigpen and Henne....

Ugh, nightmare scenario, Thigpen lights it up, they decide to go with Henne, Thiggy goes elsewhere and shines..

Tell me that has not been what dolfans have been living with for the last 10 yrs?
