I love him as owner of the Red Sox. I can't speak for Marlin fans because he clearly wasn't popular with them but the guy is a very good owner. He spends money and really seems to care about the team's success. The only negative I have of him is that I think he likes to get too involved at times and talk too much which has cost the Red Sox a few players, like Mark Teixeira for example but after that he's been pretty quite and let's the baseball people do their work and stays out of their way, which is good. Otherwise I couldn't ask for anyone better except for maybe George Sternbrenner.

A first class grade A douchebag of the first order.

He tried to strong arm the city of Miami for a stadium, then threatened relocation and generally had a adversarial relationship with the city of Miami.

On the winning front.....he allowed for the structure, that later came in to build the 2003 World Champion Marlins.

But like Desides said...he did leave us here with Jeff Loria.

Oh that's not the whole story. He said he would build the Marlins a stadium, even if he didn't get government help, then welched on his promise, saying he didn't have the $ 325 million it would take to build it. Then less than a year later all of a sudden has $ 700 million, more than twice what it would have cost for a Marlins stadium, to buy the Boston Red Sox. Class A a-hole ! Freakin' lyin' POS. I hate him and actually root for the Yankees when they play Boston Red Sox.

Well that was more a backroom deal made by Bud Selig, he is the culprit in that ****ing deal. Buddy Bud didn't want Loria in Washington (I think everyone can see why) because they needed a new stadium and he knew Loria would be the prick he has been in Miami when trying to get the stadium built. It would have been a PR nightmare for MLB. So So Fla was the sacrificial lamb, and we have paid a huge price for that.

This unbelievable ball sack Tom Hicks, after losing the rights to my club in the high court yesterday then went to district court in Texas and filed an injunction against the sale and sued my club for 1.6 billion dollars. He's just lost another case iin the high court an hour or so ago saying it was unlawful to do what he did and now he's in some kangaroo court in Texas trying to have THAT judgement overturned. Will he not just die?

Ok I'm a touch confused as to how the onwers of the team ended up with no rights to stop the sale of the teams(done by a board they set up?) did they default on loans and the bank took the team? I thought those loans weren't do yet. I'm just curious how the team seems to be fighting it's owners.

Boomer so when Henry moves Liverpool to Fenway Park in New England, after he buys them, will you come here to watch them play??? They had a game here this summer....against Celtic I believe...

my buddy Carl caddied for the Lama several years ago. Big hitter, the Lama. Long. he didn't tip him after the round, but he did promise him that on his death bed, he would receive total consciousness. so he's got that going for him.
