Jordan will forever be the measuring stick of greatness. The man is a living legend and is being inducted into the HOF tonight. Just watching the beginning of this I'm tearing up for no apparent reason. Having serious malfunctions. ahem. Tonight is a special night.
What the heck happened tonight? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...?slug=aw-jordanhall091209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
I was listening on the radio, his speech was very odd. And he did come across as a dick at times to me. Article seems pretty accurate, from my perspective.
Agreed, while I was watching his speech he came across exactly as that article states. It was very strange and uncomfortable.
I will always envy those who got to watch MJ play. People who were alive during the Marino years and during the MJ years are very, very lucky.
"Alive during the Marino years"?!? Wow, thanks a bunch dude, for making me feel REALLY old. As for MJ, this is completely unsurprising. Anyone who ever read the coffee table book "For The Love Of The Game", which was essentially a photo collection with a few essays by MJ, saw this coming. I remember reading that book, and it felt like he really trashed Scottie Pippen. Scottie Pippen, the running mate that helped him win six NBA titles, and MJ was calling him out. (Just as a refresher: MJ titles without Pippen: 0. MJ titles with Pippen: 6.) Remember this, though: part of what made MJ so great was his ultra-competitive spirit. You can't turn that on and off like a light switch. The same trait that helped make him arguably the GOAT, also makes him a complete *******.
It was definitely something I'll always remember. Jesus, those guys could play ball in their respective sports.
Sounds like Michael Jordan has really turned into a total jerk. He was slamming Isiah Thomas, George Gervin and many former players and coaches. Sounds like MJ is becoming a bitter old man.
Dude, where have you been? Jordan and Isiah have hated each other for over 20 years. Isiah was behind the infamous "freeze out" of MJ at the 1985 All-Star game. MJ was behind the even more infamous exclusion of Isiah from the original Dream Team. (This has always bothered me: where was Magic, Isiah's supposed bestest buddy in the world, when that happened?)
