Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks put together a dominant performance in Miami’s 16-13, overtime victory over Washington and has now been recognized for it.

Brooks was named AFC defensive player of the week.

Brooks led the team with 20 tackles (10 solo), helping Miami secure a 16-13 victory over the Commanders in the first-ever NFL regular season game played in Spain. His 20 tackles, which led the league in Week 11, are the most in a single game in the NFL this season and the most by a player in an international game in NFL history.

Brooks is the first NFL player to record 20 tackles in a game since 2023 when Roquan Smith had 21 for Baltimore against Cleveland. He is also the first Dolphins player to total 20-plus tackles in a game since Hall of Famer Zach Thomas had 21 at Buffalo in 2006.

Brooks, who in addition to his 20 tackles in Week 11 also tallied 18 stops against the Jets in Week 4, is the first NFL player to have multiple games with 18-plus tackles in a single season since Denver's Alex Singleton had two in 2022. He is also the only Dolphins player to achieve that feat since at least 2000.
