Coach Tony Sparano offered little or no insight into the absence of linebacker Jason Taylor from practice Thursday, acknowledging only that he’s out of town and that “it’s a personal matter.”
Sparano said he didn’t think Taylor would miss Saturday’s home exhibition game against Carolina, saying “we won’t know until later this afternoon” how long Taylor would be gone.
Taylor’s agent, Gary Wichard, was equally cryptic, saying only, “I can’t say anything. I can’t get involved.”
If Taylor does miss the game and with last year’s starter, Matt Roth, yet to join practice, Quentin Moses and Tearrius George are the only other players on the depth chart at strong-side linebacker.
