The good? Awesome! One of my favorite Priest albums in it's entirety! Now the bad... Um...who thought this mess up? While I like Whitesnake, these two bands do not belong on the same bill. Priest will eat them up and spit them out each night. This is the equivalent of casting an "buddy" action movie with The Rock and Nathan Lane.
One of their best efforts IMO. I grew up as a JP fan, owned everything from Rocka Rolla on. Whitesnake was meh, more of a radio ready hair band act that, like you said, will be overshadowed by Priest. Great to see the old boys rocking out. I haven't kept up in recent years, are Tipton and Downing still on guitar?
It's the same lineup from "Painkiller" bro. As for Whitesnake, they only became that way after the 1984 album. You need to check out "Slide It In". Naaaasty blues rock back then.
here I go agaiiin on my own....goin down the only road I've ever known.....like a (forgot word, rambler?) I was born to walk alone! But I made up my mind, I aint wastin no more tiyime, HERE I GO AGAIN!!
Oh yeah, I remember them back then, the radio frenzy that played 'Here I go Again" 80 million times kind of overshadowed everything they did before however. IMO of course, Master of Metal. Edit See? Even Eric is traumatized!
Who is your first? I got into them around the the time the Screaming for Vengeance Album was released. I was in Jr High (I think) and trying to establish my own identity as a teenager. No more listening to the crap Mom and Dad liked. I wanted to rock out with my **** out, so I became a Metal Fan. I would say Priest and Maiden were my original two bands that drew me in, then AC/DC helped solidify my stance. Then all the hair bands and Death Metal bands came out, and I tried them all.
I'm so there! And I totally agree about Whitesnake-seems an odd combo. But, I'll be there for the Priest, so who cares about the warm-up act? Who is in Whitesnake these days, anyway? Aside from Coverdale, of course.
The guitarist "Skeeter Joe" is on the left, and the drummer "Frodo" on the right. I don't know about the rest of the band.
I agree, unfortunately when they came to Atlanta a few months ago it sold out before I even found out the thing was happening.
Isn't Whitesnake pretty much 'The David Coverdale Band' at this point? Forget the opening band and just play another hour.
Just got my tickets for the St. Pete Times Forum show on August 16th! Floor, Section 2, row 22-dead center! I got a ticketmaster alert this morning that tickets were going on sale Saturday, so I go to check prices and find out a presale started this morning at 10. A little googling got me a password and it worked!
