So I have been to two camps, and so far not impressed. I was pulling for him and thought maybe he could re-live some Denver days. I am not giving up but I see a more prominent role closer to the goal line as a spot up receiver. I did see him blocking well. But downfield running was very slow and sluggish. Miami has a ton of x factors going on in the offense, like Pouncey's health and Parker's potential breakout season, however, the TE and what it is supposed to do in this offense is a pretty high priority. I am hoping it is rust or maybe just being pre-cautious based on injury history. But we all want him to bust that seam. Good to see Fasano playing well still, makes up for some of the loss. I don't think we are talented after that

Dirty, I have an honest question for you. I am an out of state Phins fan, and I have only been able to experience camp via the internet. To me, every picture that I have seen of Julius Thomas, he seems to look fat. Maybe I have just seen photos taken of him at weird angles or something, but I was wondering if you could confirm or deny what I have seen.

I don't think he looks "fat." I heard he had a good day today. However, on my two visits, he looked slow and sluggish. However, I know he has been injury prone, so I am waiting for the scrimmage this weekendBpk likes this.

Ever since his college years his body wasn't in optimum condition...basketball player who didn't lift.this offseason he said he has worked out very hard, ive studied his body over the years, to me he looked better than he has in the past..but honestly I'm not a big fan to begin with so..I'm just hoping he's an upgrade, that's not asking for much considering.

I think he will be most effective in the redzone, esp for jump balls. I just don't see right now having a Gronk type effect outside the redzone.

One thing to remember is how staggeringly hot it is down here. I know he was in Jacksonville but the weather is much more humid in MIA). Gase knows how to get what he needs out of him specifically so I think as TC goes on, you'll see him begin to flourish. Fasano is no slouch either. PFF has him at a 79.7 score which is # 5 behind Landry, Ajayi, Parker and T-Hill.

When we first signed Fasano, I thought that he was going to be a great complement to Thomas. I think that criticism of Thomas's blocking or lack there of is fair. I thought that he would have a nice situational role carved out for him. I like Fasano a lot, but I am kinda disappointed that he is the one shining and not Thomas.

so, did you see much of Fasano? was he blocking or releasing? Personally, I'm a huge fan of Fasano coming back. He's better than Sims and will instantly upgrade our #2 TE position. If Thomas goes down, he's a poor man's #1, but again better than SimsRickysabeast likes this.
