Could have been a dolphin twice. Jamar Fletcher and Dante Culpeper were clearly better choices.....

I'll never forget seeing a Dolphin fan in the crowd holding up a sign that said something to the effect of, "Pick #26 (was it 26?) is a Brees!" and then hearing Jamar Fletcher. Who was traded to the Chargers after doing pretty much nothing in Miami.

These are the types of soul crushing mistakes that really makes it harder and harder every year to follow this team and it's debacles.

 

OMG.... To remember the horror. It's rough.

 

I just don't understand this or the fans anymore.

It's like you guys are so addicted to misery, you feel the need to bring up old misery because the current misery just isn't enough.

Every day, more and more, I just think there's a subset of fans that actually enjoy the misery, whether they realize it or not.

 

Not picking on the OP, but seriously...c'mon, guys...just stop....please let it go.

There are a million players who had different careers in an alternate universe.

But seriously, 10+ years down the road, you gotta stop talking about it like it's some interesting, fun fact.

We get it, but Drew Brees has been a New Orlean Saint for 13 years.

I think what people are forgetting when they bring this up is it's not like we didn't want Brees. The medical experts said his shoulder was spaghetti and was hanging on by a single noodle. The fact that Brees was able to recover is a testimony to him and the Saints. However, I am not going to fault the team for going in another direction based on the medical advice they were receiving. This is spilled milk. No need crying about it now. The Dolphins, and every other team for that matter, can list 100 players that they should have signed or drafted, but didn't.
