if you are just playing 1 on 1 quick matches then i would suggest getting really good at passing and learning all the passes. also remember to let go of the speed burst for more accurate passes. most people get frustrated and start to foul. i highly suggest playing Be A Pro: Online Team Play. me and my buddies always play club matches and it is so much fun. to get better at defence and passing try playing a exibition game on legendary difficulty.
I just tried be a pro offline... scored 2 goals with my player and won the match 2-0... it counted it as a loss though and said my guy scored 0 goals when I looked in the fixtures. So far that's my only complaint.
Choose to play from only 4 teams; Man United, Barcelona, Brazil or AC Milan - thats what most muppets do online! Seriously though; build up play - just kick and run isn't going to work this year! Try and build from the back, try and get a formation your comfortable with so you know where your guys are going to be - however there are some seriously good players who will routinely destroy you - just stick with it, the amount of times i've lost 6 or 7 nil is countless but each time it happens I pick up something new and improve for next time. I'm average at the game so if you want to a match just message me when your online (gamertag is baboo72 - original huh! ) I've read it's really gone backwards from 2005/6?

I was a Pro Evo player up until this year. I had purchased Pro Evo 2007 and played that til now. PES 2008 didn't warrant a purchase for me and I decided to go with FIFA this time around... I'm really glad I did. The franchise has come along way and plays much better than the last PES I tried (2008).
