Yeah, sure he's not a great player.

Guess Harbaugh doesn't know sh&$, guess two strait conference championships, 1 Super Bowl appearance in his first two years of starting is just a mirage..

Does he need to learn how to deliver and hang in the pocket if the first read isn't there instead of being incredibly dynamic when he improvises, sure, but winning, playmaking while he's learning the nuances is what it's all about..

Great Qb, whether he's your cup of tea, whether you understand his orthodoxy as it relates to the position, stop hatin, cause you now only look silly, don't dig yourselves deeper.

    Should of been ours.

In fairness, he still has to prove that he is worth that contract. His career isn't over yet.

    Ot: Kaepernick record deal

Per, ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Colin Kaeprnick's 6-year deal is worth $110+ million, per sources. Heavy guarantees, too. Record guarantees.

Tannehill will cost much when he plays great this year

The 49ers will regret this sooooo much in a few years I think, when Kap's wheels are lessened. Without his speed and quickness, he's barely average.

from listening to a lot of pundits and folks saying his game would never work, to continue to say it while he's in the Super Bowl, he changed the game..

The interesting debate is how much to you ask him to be who he is, with him continuing to learn how to go to his 2nd and third reads, WITHOUT making him forget who he is.

If he can learn while being himself and gradually get better from the pocket, then he will earn every penny.

Did they just do this to mess with the Seahawks? What will Wilson ask for, considering he is a superior QB?

That is a huge contract for still having an "If"

I wonder how much Wilson is going to go for.

The guy has started a whopping 29 games. 38 passing touchdowns. Wowsers. Scott Mitchell threw more TDs in 95 than Kaep has in his regular season career. Daunte Culpepper 39 TDs in 04.

I have been banging this drum seems forever now..........Kap is the quintessential NFL QB. Dolphins should have drafted him instead of Pouncey.

The people responsible for this enormous mistake should be ................................something Stephen Kinged.

Insane. but given how difficult it is to find a long term solution at QB, you can understand why teams are so overpaying for QBs like CKaep. it's better than the alternative (see the 15+ QBs between Marino and Tannehill).

Teams allocate $20 million per year to the QB position when they find a worthy franchise quarterback, while simultaneously admitting that they have no shot of competing for a championship until they find a quarterback like that.

And then everyone *****es about the idea of using a high round pick on a quarterback within a certain time period after you've previously used a high pick on a quarterback. Or they ***** about New England using a 3rd round pick on Ryan Mallett and not getting anything from him, or now a 2nd round pick on Garoppolo.

Think about that. Really, really think about that, long and hard.

You should be throwing EVERY RESOURCE POSSIBLE at the quarterback position until you *know* you have a good one.

Are you suggesting the Pats dont know if Brady is good which is why they invested in the last few years a 2nd and a 3rd round pick to back him up?

Wow that's too much money for someone who isn't a top 5 QB and isn't a top-10 or even top-15 passer.

He's basically a more fortunate RG3. Better supporting cast, better coaching staff, and hasn't taken a Haloti Ngata shot to the knee. But he misses reads, doesn't anticipate much, doesn't complete a great percentage, and bails too early.

If I'm a Frisco fan I'm excited about the next year or two, and nervous about anything beyond that. They have by far the best roster in the NFL, imo. Win now, I suppose.

Not a fan of Kaep. Hes definitely a guy that can succeed with a strong team around him but he will never be a QB who can carry the load, and that contract demands it.

Even with his legs he's barely average...what as bout when those go?

What ifs's, I have no ifs and I agree with the coach who drafted him, and proved him right, and the GM who just gave him the contract, his ceiling is so high, the dude changed the game, he's already great.

Would have also made it if he didn't throw two picks in the 4th quarter and underthrow Crabtree allowing Sherman to make a great play.

So to simplify if he performs at a elite level, he'll see most of the money. If he's good but fails to take us to another SB or doesnt become a All-Pro, he'll lose a good chunk of the guaranteed money. If he fails to develop and displays the same limitations he displayed most of last year, we can walk away from the contract as ealry as 2015. Very team friendly deal with only a 12 mil signing bonus. He's banking on himself and I have no problem with that. Every fanbase should want they're QB to do the same.

Thats more reasonable than I expected for the 49ers. I still don't like him, and wouldn't have done it, but I get it. When he breaks down, they can move on with minimal penalty at really any point.

Reason why you give him this contract, besides the ability and ceiling, is because he is self motivated and a great leader.

We couldn't of been that highly interested, he was there for the taking..and should of been ours..one of the dumbest eval fu&$ups in the past decade.

His passing and running, and playmaking ability, all combined, trumps your criticism.

I hear a lot of professional football players, including ex niners who are close to the organization who approve of the deal with fervor.

I didn't see any decline in Brady's game..a 2nd round pick for a quality backup who will learn from the best and eventually will Be your starter Is worth it.
