Now, offer them a third and say it has to be done before the draft and that's a take it or leave it offer.
They will capitulate.

They are getting desperate. We may be able to get him for a 4th or a 5th and 2 7ths. If nobody negotiates with them in the next 3-4 days the asking price will drop further
-
I really like the idea of getting Albert for only a 2nd round pick. However, I think Ireland likes the idea of having his QB & OT's on rookie deals. It creates so much more flexibility to bring in guys for other areas.

It sounds reasonable but this is the rub.

Has Tyson clabo signed with anyone yet? Wonder what his asking price is, plus you don't have to give up a pick(s)
I'm okay with just drafting one, we're not making a run at the Super Bowl this year. By next season, Martin will be in his 3rd year and hopefully playing at a good level -
Give them our late 3rd and get a deal done that is resonable with Albert. If either of these things cant be done. Forget it.
-
I could stomach the trade for one of our 3rd round picks.

What nobody is asking is: Are the guys who are available that are cheaper BETTER?
-
The question we really should be asking is why are they so desperate to let him leave? If he's as good as they say, wouldn't it behoove the team to keep him rather than see him go? And, obviously no one is that desperate to have him as no one has made the deal yet. We let Jake walk due to injury concerns/ level of play against desired compensation, and really there were not many teams after him. So, why is no one trying to acquire Albert with great fervor?
To me, thats the bigger question, why don't teams want to pay him. Not everyone who isn't against the cap has their left tackle spot nailed down, and there aren't THAT many left tackle prospects in the draft to where you would remove him from the list of option so to speakl.Bpk and Ohio Fanatic like this. -

I have not watched ANY KC Chiefs games that I can remember. Is this guy really any good???
All I know about him is that he played G in college and shot up the draft boards late cause the experts thought he'd make a good LT. -
This is a mirage. Looks like a solution, but once here it is not as it seemed.
