No matter what, Miami Dolphins have made greatest turnaround - Miami Dolphins - MiamiHerald.com The names were called one by one in the postgame locker room here Sunday, as the warmth of kinship and accomplishment helped the frozen bodies thaw. Dolphins coach Tony Sparano was singling out the survivors -- the players who can best savor the satisfaction because they were a part of the suffering. These were the men who were ashamed to finish 1-15 last season but who now stand 10-5, simply the greatest one-year turnaround in the long history of NFL football.
Almost brought a tear to my eye. This team, these players, and this fan base have been through so much it's just so refreshing to still be positive about things this late in the season. Like someone said, 5 more wins to go
Me too. I'm just giddy. I'm so high on this team and their heart. I have to think that we continue on and conquer the Jets to secure the third seed in the playoffs.
I'm glad it's Christmas this week and will be a short week at work. Hopefully it will help pass the time better. Forget Thursday, I can't wait till Sunday.
i wish i was as confident as most here are. we're playing a team that has our number and i cant take another loss at their hands, especially as it would most likely put the pats in the postseason
I'm still pumped about the phins at work and have apparently not stopped going on about it! There's no one here who follows the sport but my god did they know we only had 1 win last year! what a turnaround! This has been a great year and Im happy for the guys who were on the team last year! though I did doubt the signing of Pennington at first I am happy to admit I've had a mancrush since his rushing TD & spike celebration against the Patsies! Whatever the outcome come Sunday this year has exceeded all my expectations!
I don't think we're overly confident - I think the word is hopeful. No-one is taking this Jets team lightly, believe me, but it has seemed like a cinderella story for our team this season. I'm tremendously satisfied with this years squad, even if we don't make the playoffs. We've come a long way and the fellas have much to be proud of.
From your lips to you know who's ears John. It was priceless when the Jets fan who lives across the street from me rang the doorbell after they lost and said "Congratulations - nice win - we'll see you next week" very sadly.
This makes me hungry. Back on topic, this makes me very happy. Its great to see this team having so much success after only a year ago, it was laughter when you told your friends or family that you were a Dolphins fan. What makes me even happier about this is that my cousin owes me some money. He's a Dolphins fan as well, I picked the Dolphins as my favorite team because it was his too roughly seven years ago, and when Parcells was hired, I told him we would make it to the playoffs in no less than two years. He told me I was out of my mind so I bet him some money and if we win next Sunday, he's going to owe me it.
