Ugh...First Sitton, now Kilgore. That is both offseason additions. The saga with the O line continues. This may actually be 90% of the problem. The year we have a competent and healthy O line is the year we are a contending team. That's ultimately the way I feel about it at this point because the other parts are in place on the offensive side. Good God...Good luck the rest of the way. Next man up. Gase is gonna have to dig into the practice squad or hit the waiver wire. Huge loss right here.

 

Well that is now 40% of our offensive line. It is the responsibility of Grief, Tannebaum, and Gase to address the offensive line through trade as quickly as possible. Any hit or injury on Tannehill is on them for not addressing the situation.

 

I have heard that drafting offensive linemen is one of the safer picks in the draft. However, I am guessing whoever said that wasn’t thinking of the Dolphins. Not sure if it’s league wide or is it us that is inept, but the guys we draft are marshmallows. Furthermore, when we do sign a guy, in FA, who is proven he is well past his prime and injury prone. IMO, the only way we will square our OL away is through the draft and we know that’s not going to happen. Same ole story, different year.

 

Should have just used our 2nd round pick on the offensive line. Gase has no clue how to use Gesicki anyway. I just don't get it.

Every year we hear the but x and y got hurt! Build some depth man every team goes through this and some still contend deep into playoffs because they coach what they have into a winning team.

I agree. It's about damn time that Gase figures out how to magically prevent injuries. I mean, any good head coach in this league can just summon the court wizard from the bowels of the stadium, perform a quick virgin sacrifice and BOOM, no more injuries. It's really easy, so long as you can find a virgin in Miami, which I will admit could take a while. But he's had YEARS to do this folks, and he just refuses to dabble in the kind of witchcraft and black magic that are necessary in today's NFL. He's going to have to sell his soul and embrace the Dark Lord if he ever wants to win.

Well, things went from good to bad pretty quickly with the injury bug. Sitton. Kilgore. Mccain. Hayes. Branch. Jones. It's pretty hard to win without 6 starters. Cry all you want about a coach, but you're already ****ed when you're down essentially 6 starters. If you dont think that's a valid "excuse", I'm not sure what to tell you.

Is it a challenge sure but Gase has consistently shown the inability to coach this team to a win. If he was replaced tommorrow no one would miss him. He’s brought us NOTHING in his time here. What’s this teams philosophy run? Pass? We have no identity the defense jettisoned some big name talent and they are managing to keep it together. This offense of GASES sucks. I swear he plays madden to come up with a gameplan. He doesn’t use the talent he has to match up its screen left run middle pass short and punt.

I’ve given him a pass before but not again playoffs or he should be fired. Which won’t happen he gets at least one mire year cause Ross is a clown.

 

What you're really looking for is an outlet for your anger because it's a situation that you have no control over. So you come here, stomp your feet, puff up your chest and try to vent. It's semi-normal...but it's not reality.

The simple answer to your question is that you're wrong. In Gase's first year he led us to the playoffs without our starting QB. Additionally, there's nothing to suggest we won't make the playoffs this year. Statistically we have a 66% chance to make the playoffs, which is higher than all but 4-5 teams in the entire league; of which only 6% of teams make a "Super Bowl run" each year. If your measure of a good coach hinges on his ability to deliver on a goal with a 6% chance of success, then I'm sorry to tell you that you're bound to be eternally disappointed.

Under Gase we've gotten younger, more talented, more explosive, and more of a team on both sides of the ball. We have drafted well. We have made good trades, and we have built a team that's unselfish. If, to you, that is nothing...then that's not a problem with Gase. It's a problem with you.

 

Well, there is that Pro-Bowl guard available that's sitting on his couch (or in a psych ward) after wanting to saw his dad's head off. It definitely doesn't fit our culture but he's clearly the best lineman available....

 

Your partially correct went venting, however I disagree that this team is better also that playoff you quote that we had no control off and backed into well... I’m not impressed with Gase at all that’s my opinion maybe not yours but that’s mine time will tell who’s wrong and I’d be glad to be wrong but I don’t see it. Gase isn’t a good head coach. He doesn’t have Paton Manning, we don’t have a true #1 receiver, online still sucks, drafted a stud TE that isn’t in the game plans it seems.

I understand your optimism and I’m not trying to piss on your parade but if this team spirals to an 8-8 season Gase should be relieved of his duties.

Well, it's perfectly fine if you don't like the guy. Nobody is saying you have to love Adam Gase. However, if you come here explaining the reasons you don't like him, only be shown that those reasons are not accurate, then you need to understand that your dislike is unwarranted and not based on facts.

If you're unwilling to change your opinion based on new information then there's nothing anyone can say to you. You're just looking to trash the guy for the sake of trashing him.

Otherwise what you're saying is that Adam Gase is a bad coach because he doesn't have Peyton Manning (which is ridiculous), or a #1 receiver (tell that to Stills), or that our rookie TE isn't setting the world on fire in his first 4 games in the league. None of that makes any sense.

Explain to me what Gase brings to this team? I like the hiring because I thought we were getting a going progressive minded offensive coordinator who can get along with the players.

I’ve seen no consistent vision of a strategy. I can’t explain what this team is designed for system wise. This is the first year he went out and got some talented draft picks but was that him or the GM? His teams have constantly come out flat in the last few seasons usually go down 14-21 points and than at halftime manage to crawl back a little bit it’s always to late.

Our defense is always bend don’t break but the way the offense has been playing quick 3 and outs were tiring them out.

I just think Gase is overmatched as a head coach I haven’t seen him outcoach much of anyone to be honest.

I don’t hate for the sake of it I just don’t see him offering us anything going forward.

 

I'm starting to lean this direction but ... and it's the same ol debate ... THill is just not enough. Sorry. Point blank. Watching some of the young guns like Mahomes on MNF last night? Jesus Christ, kid is a playmaker. He willed that team to win. He won that game. Him. THill just doesn't do that, and the rest of the team is not elite enough to carry him. You can whine about stats and whatever all you like, but THill is not getting it done in any consistent fashion. He's got (again) the rest of the season to prove me wrong, but when you see a guy like Mahomes, Wentz, and Mayfield stepping up, it just shows you how ... average THill is. He doesn't make our team elite.

 

Gase is a really good young coach, and is universally respected by players as well as his peers around the league. He took over a team that was a complete dumpster fire. Let's not forget how bad that 2015 season was. The difference between now and then is night and day. We're getting younger, faster, and more talented...not to mention these guys want to win more than they want to inflate their stats (ahem Landry). He convinced these guys to care more about the team than themselves.

Don't like Tannehill? I get it. I understand completely and you might be right. But let's not throw out the baby with the bath water. Gase is a good coach. He's not the problem. The more time he has to do his thing, the better this team is going to get because his goals are focused in the right direction. It's only a matter of time and a bit of luck. He's not the problem and he's a much better coach than any of the other options floating around out there.

 

The difference between explosive and implosive is just two letters, or in our case, two offensive linemen

 

I will be furious if Gase has not adjusted the offense to account for press coverage. He should have anticipated it from the Pats, made some adjustments at halftime at the latest, but having all week to adjust before the Bengals game and NOT doing it? I'll be ready to see him gone at the end of the year (which won't happen as Ross will give him 2019 to turn it around).

 

I said this in another post cincy plays a nearly exact same defensive scheme as belicheat and the pats and if gase gets outmatched and out game planned again there's really not much left to say about the guy in all honesty.

 

Player have to execute and play hard. Scheme only goes so far.

 

When you scheme a LB in coverage on a WR, I don't care how hard the LB is trying, he is going to get burned most of the time. Stills, Grant and Wilson struggle versus press coverage? Put a guy in motion, run sweeps, stack them. Yes, the players have to execute and play hard, but you've put them into a better position to succeed through scheme.

 

Bengals are an even 4 man Over front, it's static. NE plays multiple fronts and it's approach changes weekly depending on the best way to defend the upcoming opponent. They are really nothing alike.

Bengals, like us, are a fairly easy team to gameplan vs defensively. Austin does do a nice job disguising and mixing coverages, though.

 

I took it to mean that he thought the Bengals will clone the Pats game plan and see if Miami has adjusted.

 

This is terrible, this season is rolling downhill fast and it's due to injuries stacking up more than anything .
