http://www.buffalorumblings.com/201...sell-kevin-kolb-buffalo-bills-professional-qb They might have been better off with Tyler Thigpen. I wonder if this means they'll avoid Geno Smith in the draft. Kolb has had the chance to be a starting QB multiple times unlike a guy like Flynn.
I believe Thiggy is in Seattle now?(?) As for Kolb, Feeley 2.0, if he has a clean pocket he can do okay, if you pressure him the sacks and TO's abound.
Funny thing to me is Palmer and Kolb cost those teams an arm and a leg and now they are elsewhere. Palmer for a conditional 7th rd pick (and 2 yrs 20 millie) means Tim Tebow's value is around..-0-
What I don't like is, I was counting on some good players being pushed down to 12 because of QB's being drafted.
Dolphins beat the Seahawks last season also beat the Bengals. Both turned out to be playoff teams. The Cardinals proved to be a bad team last season. Doesn't mean because the Dolphins lost to them that they're worse or that Kolb isn't a bad QB.
I'm afraid this puts the Bills firmly at #1 in the AFC. Kolb said that he went to the Billls "to win a champion ship, period". He sounded serious in the quote I read.
I honestly don't think it will make a difference. Good chance that 1 QB went before us. I think that still stands....somebody will take a chance on Geno Smith... I personally have zero idea why, but somebody will. I actually still think that Barkley could be a solid QB for the right team, but I don't think he goes prior to our 12, either before or after these trades.
Outside of the Alex Smith pickup, I don't think any of the teams ahead of us that needed QB help feel like they solved the issue this offseason.
Barkley going to buff was going to help a bit though, now I could probably see them grabbing warmack instead ("Here's Korn Kolb, we fixed it, guys"). Regardless, We needed as many QBs to be drafted in the top 12 as possible, and now its probably going to be less than originally thought. Which does suck. I really hate our spot at #12 this year. Either way, I agree they didn't solve anything, whether or not its going to affect the first pick is left TBD
I'm saying that I don't think any move outside of Alex Smith will have any bearing on where the QB needy teams grab a QB. For example, I don't think Kolb changes Buffalo's plan to draft Barkley (if they want to draft him).
I think it might, lol. As comical as that would be. But I hope you're right EDITs: The details of the contract are going to be the most telling. If Schefter is right and it's 2 years or more, that might give you a better idea of what's going on... But we'll have to wait and see what the guaranteed $$$ is .
