On the Kup and Goldie show the host from Indy says he has a close friend from Indy (his hometown) that is also a very close friend of Peyton Manning. He says he got a text saying "Good Luck with Manning .... He is 85% to Miami!"
Just an fyi...
Also, did you hear that Manning would be our 18th QB, how ironic that he is also #18.
Good Stuff.

Insiders say he's a Amelia Earhart park throwing to the kids and will be eating @ Cafe Versailles afterwards.

I have learnt to not get excited, we have been let down with our '1st choice' hopes before... (although Jeff Fisher was probably a good thing in hindsight)

Thanks for sharing, although we have to remember how many inside sources there were that said Jim Harbaugh was packing his bags and on his way to Miami.

No offense to the OP or anything, but any time I hear an inside source give a percentage on something happening, it sounds like bull****. Hope it's not the case here.
Just seems like a factual reason such as he likes the offense more or the coaching, etc. than another team goes a lot further, imo. -

Peyton Manning according to sources, had an omelete and biscuits for breakfast, then took a giant dump, ran out of toilet paper and has been spotted buying LARGE quantities of Charmin.
WHY would you buy large quantities of toilet paper unless.......he ...is...planning...to...stay?

According to OmarK Ireland took like a 10 minute phone call at the UM proday today, then got up and rushed off in a hurry with Brian Gaine. Hopefully something good is going on.

I was on the Joe Philbin bandwagon from day one and had no idea why there was a single Dolphin fan anywhere who wanted that Fisher bum.Fin D likes this. -

The Onion Ring is easily the most underrated food of all-time.
If we had a food draft....of course, the Cheeseburger, the Taco, Pizza, Chili and Hot Dogs would all be consensus 1st round picks....
I would be the smart guy trading down in the 1st round and taking French Fries and Onion Rings with the two picks I got, then come back with Nachos with my own 2nd round pick. (I am good at this)dolfan7171 and Rouk like this. -
As it has been stated previously...I won't get my hopes up too high. I would love to have Manning come in and elevate our team, but in the back of my mind I think of all the years that this team seems to have been mismanaged. You can only let down a fan base so many times and they will react negatively to even seemingly good news.
It's tough being a Dolphins fan, but as with my Red Sox & Bruins...You can't really experience the true high of your team winning it all, unless you have been there in the bad years suffering. -

If as you state Fisher was not hired because he wanted final authority over player personnel decisions. Why exactly didn't Ross just tell him in the very first interview he had with Fisher that Ireland was the final say and if Fisher didn't like it, he could go somewhere else? Instead once Fisher decided to take the Rams job and not the Dolphins, all of a sudden Ross tried to spin it as if he turned down Fisher.
I don't buy it for a minute. The fact is that Ross has not been able to close an important hiring deal since he became the majority owner of the Dolphins. He stated when he fired Sparano that he was going to hire a HC with experience. While Philbin has been a coach in the NFL, he has never been a HC at any level and he was only hired because Ross could not entice Fisher or any of the other top names on most everyone's list to take the job. Philbin may turn out to be a decent coach or he might end up being the next Cam Cameron. Whatever happens with Philbin, the reality is that Ross once again failed to attract the top tier coach he said he would when he fired Sparano.
I think Ross and Ireland will also fail to sign Manning. Because when Manning examines the overall Dolphin organization he will see the same problems Fisher did with the men running the organization and he will decide to take his talents somewhere else and it won't be South Beach. -
