Dude has moves! He's breaking ankles out there and he looks like a legit weapon. So glad we're finally using him on offense. 6 receptions for 60 yards. 8 rushes for 17 yards. and a huge first down.
I've got a man crush on our rookies ! we've got to draft a little better in later rounds and find hidden gems, but as it is for our day one picks it seems like they all were great ones. from 4 to 7 though, it's another story.
My main question is why wasn't Booker used before now??? No one seemed to know why he wasn't allowed on the field in any way shape or form. Thought he must have done something really bad.
He's had a lot of problems with his blocking, which I think is the main reason he's been off the field until recently. There's no point having a great receiver out of the backfield if your QB's been hospitalised. I was advocating for using him as a slot receiver whilst he learned how to block, but my vote doesn't count.
Especially considering for a good part of the time he was inactive Ronnie was playing, and he is arguably one of the best in the league at receiving, which appears to be Bookers niche so far.
Definitely was impressed with this kid . . . he was killing dudes out there, WHY WASNT he playing before is a question we all should ask, but he is now, and lets enjoy. Remember, he was recruited HIGHER than Bush was in High School . . . so the potential is there. Slot WR, change of pace back, there are multiple options for him.
They are second day draft picks, and rookies at that. Oh yeah, and two of them are starters (Mauia and Fields). Soliai has seen time but needs to work on his hand technique. Mormino had a great training camp and may start next year. What more do you want from them this early in their careers?
haha, who needs a WR, we can just throw RB's all over the place to go along with Ted Ginn . . . would be different . . . atleast all of them can catch the ball.
I second that. As a matter of fact, I think Booker is actually more elusive than Bush. He's a true scatback in the mold of guys like Eric Metcalf.
Poor man's Reggie Bush. Booker has stated several times that he's irked by how Bush got all the hype and publicity even though they have roughly the same skill sets. (Booker was a five-star recruit out of high school.) Ted Ginn is the player we're hoping turns into Steve Smith.
Metcalf, Lionel James etc. Metcalf was a brilliant player though, and I don't know if Reggie was used as a WR or a slot receiver like we use LBook. LBook has 4 games or so under his belt, so he isn't "Bushian" as of yet, but for us, and with Ted Ginn, they are just soo valuable to our team. I think Metcalf returned kicks as well? He did, and this is interesting: Ted Ginn has blown that away in his rookie season, for me, I would like to see LBook back there and Ginn focus on playing the WR position..but that is just me.
i really like what we're seeing from LoBook.... i really hope we get him involved a lot more in the gameplan in upcoming weeks..... even next year, when Ronnie returns. I'd love to see LoBook be our change-of-pace back much like how Travis Minor (another FSU alum) used to spell our carousel of backs in the early 2000's. LoBook looks like a more-effective Reggie Bush to me. But the question that everyone else is asking remains: why haven't we seen him sooner? If it WAS his blocking abilities, you'd wonder why they didn't really hone in on that training for him given his other abilities.... At any rate i'm glad to have him on the field this often now, and i hope his role does not get diminished next year when all the other backs return healthy.
Reggie Bush? Reggie Bush hasn't done anything in the NFL. I'd rather him be more like a Brian Westbrook.
LoBooker has become one of my favorite Dolphins, even if he is a Nole. I love seeing him get the ball in space and making people miss. I said wow out loud a few times today because of his moves, cuts on a dime and has a very effective spin move.
LOL, he definitely has more moves than Jessie Chatman . . . who uses that ONE spin move that teams were starting to catch on to. Book will be breaking ankles for years to come . . . Brown and Booker will be a lethal combo.
i dont think Reggie Bush is really that good in the Pros he was Great in College he is a Good Catching Back in the NFL but i dont think he can really run the ball that well thats my Opion
Uh, allow me one Reggie Bush and you guys can have 20 Lorenzo Bookers. Classic overreaction. Booker has nice skills as a jitterbug but Bush is still going to be a star in this league. This season he was obviously hurt and not at his best. Let's see, as a rookie Bush played in the NFC title game and Booker helped pull out one game after finally seeing action late in the season. That's the type of comparison I love, when suddenly lesser becomes more. I just wish the people who make the daily betting lines were so easily fooled by recency.
Watching Booker was the most fun I had as a Dolphin fan since the 2002-2003 seasons watching Ricky....it was so awesome seeing him fake out those quick DB's and LB's. I think the reason we didn't see much of him because it may of took him a little while to get comfortable with the system...I think I remember hearing in the beginning of the year he was a little slow at picking things up... But man next year L. Booker and Ricky would be awesome....
Reggie Bush is overrated, the only thing he has that Booker doesn't is unbelieveable speed. He will never be a #1 back and will be more of a receiver like Booker. Lendale White has been a btter back then Reggie Bush in the NFL.
im definately impressed with l. booker too. and thankful he's finally seeing the field. this kid has to stay on this roster. good hands, nice speed, nice moves. im sold!
Hilarious. The only overreaction in this equation is the continued hype surrounding Reggie Bush. NFC Title Game? Even more hilarious. This year he becomes the #1 back by default and now they won't even get a wild card bid. Injuries? Stop please....before my sides split. That will happen every year they try him as the featured back.
LOL, Yes Bush single handedly got them to the NFC Title game, Brees had nothing to do with it. Bush and Booker are very comparable players, period.
Let me pile on as well. Bush has struggled to make people miss in his two years in the league. His trademark burst of speed and hurdling has been negated in the NFL, making him a rather pedestrian back. While Bush is definitely faster than Booker, he is nowhere near as elusive. Both have their upsides and both are capable of making an impact in this league, but the difference is that Bush was the No. 2 overall pick while Booker was a third-rounder.
Difference is, we didn't spend a #2 overall on Booker. **EDIT** And I should have finished the thread before posting lol
