If I'm Gaine it would tell me nobody else wanted it so they turned to me as a last resort.

I'd start looking for another job. Might not be so easy though considering where he is and who is Boss was. Might take a year or two to line something else up.

Just a thought. Was he not considered because it would look like we were settling? This is my thought. Feel bad for Gaine.

you talk as if you are privy to real (insider) information & not restricted to the biased, convolutiing, incendiary opinions of the media & rake fans.
the story line of having offered four people the position & they laughed in our collective faces, wanting nothing to do with the dolphins, does not have the ring of truth to it.
I'm sure there is more to every story that has been purposely left out to create more discourse & discontent.

Dennis Hickey appears to be as qualified as any of the others, maybe more...

there is no school of general management in the nfl. this is a learned/on-hands (OJT) developmental process/experience. I don't think there was one candidate significantly better than the other, only more subjectively attractive in someone's eyes. that is why I was sure they would promote from within our own ranks... Dennis Hickey will do just fine. Philbin is no fool.
