Has anyone kept tabs on Lance Louis? We obviously cut him because he wasn't ready to play after his ACL injury, but that was about 2 months ago. Maybe we could bring him back to help band-aid the right guard spot?
I saw him at Publix just last week. He was loading up on soda (Buy 3 get one Free) and dry cat food (BOGO!) I asked him about how he was feeling and if he heard from Ireland. He shook his head and then added that he sent a message to Jeff's Gmail account. I didn't get the feeling that we will be seeing him again
I haven't heard anything about him since we cut him. That was a big disappointment to me. I thought that given time he would have recovered enough to be an upgrade over Jerry. I've never been a Jerry fan. I just see him as a bad fit. He surprised me last season by playing as well as he did. He was just passable last year IMO, but that was better than I expected. I thought Louis was being paid peanuts and would have been a clear upgrade by about mid season.
I'd like to think that they would be able to add him over the bye and he would step in and play, but I just don't see any of that happening
I think he really didn't stay in good condition relatively speaking during his injury..prolly needs more time to get his strength back all over.
I have no specific knowledge regarding Louis, but in general I would say that OL guys have a greater tendency than most to let themselves go during the off times. It's just a personal observation, but it seems that O-linemen generally are trying to shed pounds coming into the season more often than other positions.
Ran into him at Dunkin Donuts the other day....Said he was gettin ready to go play bingo. Looked sad because he's not playing football.
I saw him at a titty bar the other night. He was doing tequila shots after licking salt off a dancer's boobs.
I had hopes for him as well. Not necessarily that he would be a star, but just a solid addition. A solid addition right now would be a huge improvement. I would think that if he sees how badly the line play is that he would be working his arse off for a chance to play this year.
I swear I thought that was him waving the sign at little Ceasers and playing air guitar...Just passed him.
There were reports from early training camp that he looked really out of shape..he probably just added 4 months to his rehab because of his lack of conditioning while he was injured.. Don't know why Ireland continues to not pay attention.
all I know about Lance Louis is he was the best offensive linesman the Bears had before his injury & we scooped him up. he's a very talented & hard-nose absolutely mean offensive linesman, shades of Incognito. if healthy, he would be an option. will not surprise me to see his return.
Recovery for an ACL for a big man like Louis is so much tougher.. I tried to be optimistic about that signing cause when healthy he's one of the good ones, but I always felt it was farfetched.
He's just chillin in the French Quarter eating beignets and sipping café au lait while shopping discount designer knock off shades in preparation for Oct 13...
