No surprise. Daniel Thomas looked healthy *knock on wood* We need to get Reggie more involved, Larry was way down the totem pole. Hopefully he latches on somewhere else. Seemed like a dude just wanting a chance.
If Larry Johnson were actually still talented, I'd recommend not releasing him. Among the two things that are not famous for staying healthy: 1. Rookie tailbacks asked to carry a hefty load 2. Reggie Bush But, Larry Johnson is Larry Johnson, and we could sign a UDFA off someone's practice squad and probably get the same level of talent.
They release a player after every loss. Ricky Sapp for the first and LJ for the second. Yep, it was definitely LJs fault we lost to the Texans as if it will make a difference. They better hope that DT can stay healthy because Bush can't run between the tackles.
We can resign him again again if Bush or Thomas get hurt. REALLY make us look nice and incompetent in the media To match what we do on the field.
Don't get it personally. We could get the same type of production out of Hillard if we really needed him.
Hilliard has almost been non-existent the last couple games. They've made Jeron Mastrud has become some kind of moving power TE blocker. Hilliard is only there because he can play multiple positions. He's no Sammy Morris.
Benny Sapp....and nobody was claiming that it was LJ's fault we lost the texans game. After watching that game, do we really need an extra running back or another saftey?? Maybe another OL?? LJ was expendable, you can find his type of talent off the FA list everyday.
Well considering that John Jerry is apparently the sixth OL and not Nate Garner does it matter? Ryan Cook hasn't been active and Dante Rosario hasn't played. Will Allen was barely put into the game.
Can't imagine it'll be a major signing to replace LJ, without anyone out there picking up anything about it. I did hear out in twitterland that Frank Kearse was signed off our practice squad by Carolina.
I wonder if they just signed him to give the texans something to plan about and so that he wouldn't go there and be downloaded...ah well of to the jets he goes i would bet
He's a lot better lead blocking than when Morris was drafted into being a fullback here. He threw maybe the worst lead block I think I've ever see vs. the Saints in whatever year that was with Saban. The guy basically stopped his feet and tried to push a guy hardly even within his reach. I don't think he got another snap after that, it was all Lorenzo Diamond and Alex Holmes.
