This is just the MSM wishing out loud. Fuel economy will become even more important, but that doesn't mean America's cars will look, feel, and behave like the sardine cans they drive in Europe. I'm looking at some crossover SUVs right now, but I will say that I like the idea of getting a hybrid, even if it'll take three or four years to realize any savings. Too bad I can't afford the Lexus RX400h...
Even if it is a "last hurrah", there will always be powerful cars. They might tone them down a bit, but they can't get rid of them completely. Too many people like and want them. Let's face it...I can't see myself driving a Prius.
so does my mom's sequoia (sp?)... i hate that truck. the brakes suck (you practically have to put two feet on the brake pedal and stand up to get it to stop), it has the absolute worst turning radius, and the dash feels like a $15k car, yet the truck cost almost $50k.... i could go on and on but you get the idea. i used to sell cars, and the sister dealership to ours was a toyota/lexus dealer.... and some of my buddy salesmen over there used to say: "Toyota: Boring cars for boring people."
I'd love to bro, but you know how much more that Jetta's gunna cost? I'm looking at some other models too. My '02 Saturn SC2 has 150K on her and still runs like a top and gets me 30 mpg, but something tells me she's gunna start wearing out soon. Wife works for Hyundai/Chrysler/Chevy...so maybe I can look at an Elantra or something for employee cost. That just sounds WAY too ghey man.
He lost all credibility here with this: Wolkonowicz said, noting that today’s humble Honda Accord could outpace most of the famous muscle cars of the 1960s.
If you're referring to me, how's about I slap that bobbing head of yours off your shoulders? 2007 Honda Accord 0-60 = 6.5 seconds Keeps up with the muscle cars of the 60's. The ones from the 70's blow it away though.
God save and keep me from ever having to drive anything as boring as a Honda Accord. Nothing wrong with it, mind you and if you like it more power to you. But to me it is the overriding definition of "boring yuppy". I've had sports cars all my life with few exceptions here and there, and God willing I always will.
anybody know how the new impalas are gonna look? im due for a new company car about the time they come out and our fleet consists of impalas
Actually bro, while I'm no fan of Hondas I have to admit the new Accord coupe is pretty sharp looking. No, no...NO way am I pro rice! I just can't say something that isn't true. Someone said the new Accords could keep up with the 60's musclecars, and they're correct. Can't argue facts.
nah, you're more like a T-rex... big and powerful but not very "nimble." The Velociraptor would be something like an RS4 or an M3.....
You'd be right if I had a hummer. My car isn't very big. But it is fast. And I hate to tell you, it handles pretty well for a musclecar. Not in the M3 range, but it's not a tank like my old 'Cuda was. Speaking of my old 'Cuda...found a better pic of her. We used her as the "limo" on our wedding day. I have to try to get a clip of the video. The end of our wedding video is a massive burnout out of the reception hall parking lot.
sweet picture Pagan, great pose, everything. Your wifes gown is beautiful, train spread out.. cool. a yellow 340 cuda on Cragars.... those were the days.
Thanx bro! A drunk driver thought my long driveway was a street, turned into it, floored it, and destroyed the front end of her. A guy gave me some righteous $$$ for her even smashed, and now she sits on my wife's finger in the form of a 10th year anniversary ring. I wish man...
My Tacoma rocks! Turns tighter than my Grand Cherokee did, has more rear seat room, and a 6 ft bed. And the brakes def don't suck. If they did the way I drive I'd have smashed something by now... [/IMG]
