Leaked Nike Logo Updates - Including Miami

Just wish they would change to the old jerseys and logo from the late 80'/ early 90's. 2 basic colors and striped sleeves and pants. A simple and classic look (I really dislike the navy shadowing on the current Uni's)

That pic looks good and all, but there's only a few players who'll be holding their hands that way to even see the logo in its entirety.

Yup. The NFL will have a much tighter leash on Nike than the NCAA has. Everything has to go through the franchise and the league first. So far, the only team I hear will be undergoing a major change is Seattle.

I do think, however, that eventually there will be a "Pro Combat" style of alternate jersey for most, if not all, teams. There's just too much money to be made there, and NFL owners know it.

 

Teams can approve color changes or simply say no thanks...

 

Agreed. Go back the uni's we had when Marino was in his prime.
And for the love of everything that is holy and pure, get rid of the navy blue shading of the numbers. In fact, get rid of navy blue as a team color all together.

Vonte Davis tweeted that its going to be a "lil bit different" so I don't see a drastic change coming

 

Sean Smith didn't write that tweet. There is no "Lol" in it.

 

Nike has to need team and league approval, the NFL is a brand and no way Goodell is going to let Nike come in and turn the league into U of Oregon. Ain't gonna happen. With that said, I'd welocme some changes to teams and some color schemes. What Nike probably did was create a radical uniform mock up, a "tweak" version of the current uniform, an altered throwback style and maybe a new logo. I'm sure Nike didn't just take over the Reebok contract and do nothing. Besides the Swoosh logo, they will put their own mark on the entire uniform, of course with team and league approval. I get the feeling thoguh that all the hype around this will end up being disappointing. I'd like to see more use of the orange jersey, but that's just me. If they could make the orange jersey like the early 80's or mid 90's jerseys, those would look nice. But seeing Miami is an iconic franchise, I don't see them dropping the aqua and going in a different direction.

Wow, I really like that one. I may be in the minority, but I would welcome a logo change. I don't tend to like cartoon characters on helmets. I can't say I care all that much for the Pats' current logo, but I see it as an upgrade over the one they had before. I have never liked the Dolphin wearing a helmet in our logo. I love the Dolphin as a mascot. They're smart, fast, strong and work as a team, but the helmet on the Dolphin has always bugged me.

 

I've never been a fan of the royal blue.

 

The blue and the aqua combination struck me as very oceany. The orange is the color that bugs me the most.

 

Can't have a sunrise over the ocean or a sunset on Biscayne Bay without orange. Very Miami.

 

I hate the blue. Aqua or orange. That's it. And maybe white when needed

I understand the meaning behind the orange and I even like it as a minor accent. I think the orange as an accent differentiates us from Seattle and the Marlins and makes sense as Miami is in the sunshine state. I hate it as the predominant color though. I don't want to look like the Broncos or the Hurricanes. I even hated the orange seats in the stadium. Dolphins rule in the ocean and the stadium is our domain. I liked the stadium mock-up in the other thread that showed the seats changed from the orange.

 

Maybe it's just me, but aside from the aqua and orange being lighter, it almost appears as if the navy blue has been replaced by black. I seem to remember a rumor from a few years back that the Dolphins were looking to change to black as the accent color, so it wouldn't shock me if that was the case. Combined with the lighter aqua and orange, it does appear to give it a more dynamic contrast.

 

Dolphins barely wear there aqua jerseys. No way they would wear black. Replacing the blue on the logo to black would look terrible. Its the lighting. Im telling you

I can see why you would think that from looking at the gloves. Personally, I hope that's not the case. The black and orange seem too much like Halloween colors to me.

Its obvious that each gloves are the same position. Its not the actual photo of the gloves. It's a template Photoshop mock ups tend to have lighting effects to make their product stand out. I compare it to a menu. The food presented looks a lot better then the food you get. This photo is a menu photo.

I agree, it is sweet, it reminds me of speed...and isn't that what a dolphin is and does, speed and dart its way faster and quicker that any mammal or fish in the ocean..

I'am so ready for a change..Some may consider that too radical, but I think something like this, is exactly what we need...either that, or modernize the old school stuff to being cool.

Has anyone really looked at a colts uniform, or a cardinal uniform, or a Ram uniform.....fugin ugly man, lol

 

my question is, who is making this stuff, and why, for shi$s and giggles or does somebody have a plan to move this merchandise.?

I see aqua as our color as well. I agree that is our identity. I see orange as an accent. When I think of orange teams, I think of Denver and UM and UF. And the unis with orange as the primary are but ugly.

 

I liked that tweak, but would probably prefer the primary be aqua and the accent be either grey or navy. I think that grey and aqua together also make sense for Dolphin colors. I could see either of those being the base and the other being used for numbers and such as well.

 

We need to get rid of navy an accent and switch it with grey.
Change the Dolphin in the logo to grey and switch the facemasks to grey.
This might be too radical a change but maybe change the helmet to aqua.
Wish I could photoshop, I'd like to see this changes come to life. Sometimes something looks good in your head......

I don't think its going to happen anytime soon, but I would favor a logo update that removed the helmet from the dolphin and made it less cartoony.

 

Just so everybody knows, that images of the gloves with the current logo and the "aqua?" boxes was made by me for use on the Chris Creamer Sports Logo boards. I made it Saturday when the gloves leaked to sell my believed idea that the aqua was lighter.

It was pure speculation then and it is pure speculation now. I'm sorry that my image/idea spiraled so far out of control.
