So Zep has a song on one of their later albums called All My Love. I'm sure most of you are familiar with it, great song. I was reading up about it and it's a song Robert Plant wrote in honor of his son who died of a stomach infection when he was 5. I don't understand the lyrics though. At all. Even after reading them after knowing what the song is about. They just don't make any sense to me and not understanding things like this bother me to no end. Someone please enlighten me onto how the lyrics are about this tragedy.
Zep Fan Here, It's poetry about his life and how it was cut short.. "Yours is the cloth mine is the hand that sews time". Your life might have ended, but I'm not going to let it go. I think JPJ came up with the music. It's "ok" as far as zep songs go IMO
As far as the lyrics go , Plant has often been quoted as saying he doesn't really know what they mean/meant .... period of time , influenced by ... substances .... the gist is there and perhaps moves laterally at times...
Speaking of which, if you love organ solo's and such, you should give ELP a listen if you aren't a fan already.
If you like ELP Greg Lake (The L in ELP ) was the bassist for a band called King Crimson. Check out "In The Court Of The Crimson King"
