My Daughter got talked into signing up with a school when she was 16, am I correct in believing that at that age you cannot enter into a binding contract?

I believe you have to be 18 but it might vary depending on state.

I know 18 is a federal law, but I was wondering if the State can lower the age, now with law enforcement, a state can increase the severity of the law with the federal being the min. I am just not sure if school fall under the same rule.

Im pretty sure 18 is a federal law. I know in NY its 18 for a binding contract; you cant even get a cellphone until you're 18 for that reason.
