wow, i guess this just puts it into perspective for me how awful of a golfer I must be. I can see and the closes ive really been is within 5 feet (and then i 2 putted for a par)... I must really suck!
That's awesome. My dad's legally blind and he still golfs amazingly well. As long as someone faithfully watches where the ball goes, it's a great sport for the blind and lends an outlet for needed independence.
Sorry to hear but thats awesome. I see ok and I absolutely suck at golf. I am King of Landing In Water.
Before he lost his sight, he usually shot in the 70's on championship courses. I imagine it would be much more difficult to pick up now without the prior years of playing.
One of the girls I work with, her father was a pro golfer as well, 85 years old too was pretty much blind as well, still had some sight but not very good, and he could still play better than anyone apparently. He just passed away, god rest is soul. But its amazing how golf, and the elderly and the blind apparently seem to go hand in hand. I think thats the fun part of the game... anyone can play it, young, old, any body shape/size, and it can always be fun even if you are terrible at it!
Maybe he could have been, but he had a hard enough time getting out to play when dealing with all of the kids
If it was a par 4 I would be more amazed. I'm pretty sure I have heard about things like this happening before, I don't think it is any more amazing than average Joe getting a hole in one.
