2002- Ed Reed
2003- Andre Johnson
2004- Vilma, DJ William, Vince, or Carey (take your pick)
2005- Ronnie (that damn smile suckered me from the get go!!... Rodgers 2nd)
2006- Tye Hill (Clemson, what can I say)
2007- Amobi Akoye (friggin kid's still 22) Willis 2nd (Thought Ginn was going like 10 picks later)
2008- Jake Long (Matt Ryan close 2nd....ABSOLUTELY did not want Gholstoncrapper)
2009- Connor Barwin (Nicks close 2nd....didn't think Vontae would even make it to us to consider)
2010- Dez Bryant (oooops, we're not there yet)

 

2002 and 2003 we didn't have first round picks, but if we're going to go back that far:


2001 Drew Brees. seriously i remember being livid. fletcher was probably the pick i hated the most until jason allen. i think fiedler got a contract extension soon after that too. during that offseason it was clear, to everybody but wanny, that we needed a qb.

2002 we had no first or second. i really didn't care

2003 anquan boldin (i was graduating from fsu at the time)

 

I know..... that's why I put them in there with those little smiley face thingies. LOL.

 

2004: I was happy with Carey. Our line needed so much help. I was not happy getting fleeced by the Vikings for a pick though.

2005: It was all about Ronnie Brown. I was elated when Leinart stayed because I was terrified we'd end up with Alex Smith.

2006: I was always a huge Leinart fan and as he started to slide my hopes got high. KB got me on to Cutler as well. I liked Greenway a lot and I really liked Tye Hill.

2007: I loved Adam Carriker. I really liked Pat Willis, Aaron Ross and Michael Griffen as well. I was crushed by the Ginn selection.

2008: It was all about Chris Long for me but I liked the Jake Long thing.

2004: Vince Wilfork
2005: Believe it or not, I wanted us to take Shawn Merriman or Marcus Spears. IMO, most RBs have too short a career to be worth the cost of a high 1st Rnd contract
2006: Manny Lawson
2007: Patrick Willis or Adam Carriker
2008: Before free agency started, C. Long. Then when we ignored OT and signed mostly defensive players as free agents, I switched to Jake. For the last two weeks leading up to the draft, I was adamantly in Jake's camp.
2009: Conner Barwin or Jairus Byrd
