Do the lines move? Or are they there all the time? If they're there all the time, I'd guess your screen has gone bad and you'll need to replace it.

 

In addition, if it is a bad screen, it might be more cost effective to just go out and buy and brand new laptop. Maintenance and repairs on laptops costs alot more than it would for a regular desktop, I took my laptop to the Geek Squad and asked a friend about fixing it when my screen went black and they both said that the labor would be extremely expensive and buying a new one was my best option. If you don't want to buy a new one, maybe buying a new desktop monitor and hooking your laptop up to that would be a cheaper option?

 

Have to agree with that. I would suspect that it would be just as cheap to buy a new laptop (or pretty close), unless you can find a parts dealer and do it yourself (which I wouldn't recommend unless you really know what you're doing).

 

when i was studying the A+ exam (fixing computers) it said never to mess with a monitor and have it sent off to be fixed. that's with a desktop and i imagine that's expensive.

laptops are generally more expensive because the parts are more specialized for the size of the computer.

you may be way better off buying a new one.

google a pixel test to see if you have any dead pixels, also.
