1. Nobody died. 2. The team is relatively healthy. 3. Brian Hartline is a capable #2 if you have a Brandon Marshall type at #1. 4. Lamar Miller continues to show flashes. 5. Sean Smith had a really good game. 6. Cameron Wake always plays well. He always provides pressure. 7. We have a really good long snapper. 8. Pouncey's shotgun snaps are really consistent. 9. Jonathan Martin only fell down twice while in pass pro. 10. Not a single car accident, injury or fatality was attributed to the fans leaving the game.
Sean Smith is one of the larger problems in the secondary. How many years and how many dropped easy Int's can we witness without drawing the conclusion that just is not a playmaking Cb?
Yes, he is, the defense puts him into positions to make plays and he refuses to make them, has for 3 DefCord's. At this point a different player can make the plays he is leaving on the field, ie, he's a road block.
No one ever claimed he was a playmaking CB, the hope was that he would be a good coverage CB. He's still a #2 CB, but he's clearly lost it the last couple of games.
A problem at corner is a bad corner. Smith isn't a bad corner. Someone who is solid but doesn't create turnovers isn't a problem. That's Smith.
Seven more games and we can look forward to a top ten draft pick again. Hopefully a new GM will be making the pick.
Why do you insert the name Brandon Marshall?? Is it to remind everyone we got rid of the side tracking Diva. Why can't it just be we need a number 1? Just curious? 11. It was a beautiful sunny day
Sean Smith is okay. I'd rather have Vontae than Carroll, with Marshall having been moved to safety, but it's too late now.
Watch the game again and talk to me, he was spun around and was lost on a big gain, dropped ints, and he was responsible for more than 2 for less than 30.
At this rate, they may be able to sign him for the league veterans minimum. Word is getting around the league that his play is well below his previous performance. I just don't see him being worth more than a mid range LT at this point in his career. I've always liked him as a player and he seems like a good guy. He just isn't the player now he was a few years ago. At this point, I think Martin would be as effective at LT as Long has been, and he is a whole lot cheaper.
We definitely need to change our secondary. We suck. Aren't we ranked like 25th or something. What happened to the number one D?
Well that is certainly high praise for the player who is suppose to be the Dolphins best player in the secondary. He is, "okay". Of course you are correct. He is merely okay and that is why this is one of the worst secondaries in the entire NFL. The best player is okay and the rest of the secondary isn't okay. It's as simple as that.
Yes and no, keep in mind the traditional way of measuring defense, YPG, is a bit outdated. It's all about PPG/Sacks/Pressures/Turnovers in the modern NFL
Perhaps you need to realize that the Dolphins scored exactly zero TD's against one of the worst defenses in the NFL today. Who cares if he dropped a pass or not. Marshall is still better than any offensive player on the Dolphins at this time. By the way, how many catches does does Egnew, the player selected with the third round pick for Marshall, have this season. Oh, I almost forgot. He has yet to make the active roster for a regular season game. So his catch total is zero. Great trade Ireland.
He wasn't good today imo , if he was horrible how would you classify his game last week? More horrible , ultra horrible, beyond horrible? Not intending to be snarky but I can say he played well last week at all.
Depends on the price ( like Long ) and if we truly believe he will be better , improve his game or this is as good as it gets. Major , prime time CB dollars aren't worth allocating to him imo. Keeping him at a fair contract? Of course , but he still needs to improve , again imo.
And I predict a 24-10 win. Larger point is to keep a balanced perspective a single win changes things on the season. A win and a chargers loss and we move to the 7th seed.
Bro, if we go 9-7 with a Rook Qb imo that is a successful season. Practically speaking, if we finish 6-10 I think we see some positive changes and we have a raft of draft picks and slots for them to replace departing FA's.
I am wondering what our fanbase would do if we had Cutler. He looks TERRIBLE. This fanbase would run him out of town. It's a matter of time before Marshall blows up. Tick, tock...
Just as bad, the past two weeks he has not played well at all. Before that I thought he played very well.
