I usually don't find out about shows that I like until they are in syndication, and by then I'm late to the party.
The Musketeers. BBC series - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Musketeers_%282014_TV_series%29 Amazing !
The Killing, season 3. That season is a stand-alone, so season 1-2 (Rosie Larson case) isn't required viewing. What a great season. Loved it. Great writing and characters. It's a shame the show got off on the wrong foot in season 1 and lost its viewership. Fringe. Watched a few of my favorite episodes while I was sick this week. Such an underappreciated show with an underappreciated cast. It's a travesty John Noble never won an emmy. Will check out BBC Musketeers.
Is this available on Netflix or anywhere else in the U.S.? I see that you're in Scotland so you may not be able to answer this query, so naturally I'm directing my question towards anybody.
I stopped watching after the first 2 episodes. Its moving at such a snail's pace i was fighting to stay interested.
Fringe might be one of the brainiest, best-conceptualized and best-written shows ever. I've re-watched it several times since its cancellation and picked up hints as early as the first season of events that wouldn't appear until S5. Brilliant.
Hats off to Sleepy Hollow for having giant balls and to Almost Human for their impressive world building. I like both of these shows very much.
Do I have to first power through season 2 to watch season 3 [because I couldn't get myself through the first few episodes]?
Tore through the first 2 and a half seasons of The Wire in about a week. Just been sitting and watching 2-4 eps a night when the kids goto bed. Justified and Banshee are on hold. I still will put an hour aside for True Detective tho.
Re: List your favorite shows & mini series Ah. I never understood the hate for the second season with the docks. It was a pretty gripping season. Frank Sbotka is probably one of my favorite characters in the series. Nicky and Ziggy in surprisingly relatable situations. Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I thought it was strong television. I hope they come back to The Greek at some point before series end.

Not seen the last episode yet, but it's been one of my favorite new shows. I do worry that it will struggle to keep the storyline fresh and get stuck down in Red's villain number of the week, but enjoying it for now anyway. Spader makes the show though.
Spoiler Jamie, the campaign manager and Rosie's aunt Terry. -Rosie, in the wrong place at the wrong time. -Overheard some political espionage @ casino - Jamie put her in the trunk after knocking her out - Calls one of his political conspirators (the Construction company owner, tells him what happened. He wants no part of it - Terry, who's having an affair with construction company guy, wants him to leave his wife. For convoluted reasons, the person inside the trunk must die for that to happen. - Terry pushes car w/rosie (alive) in the trunk, into the water. - Terry didn't know it was Rosie inside the trunk There are some seriously good episodes in season 2. But the finale and reveal was a bit convoluted. Season 3 is easily the best season. It's much tighter and streamlined (actually resolving the case by the end of it). Also has some great characters. Peter Skarsgaard delivers an awesome performance. Bex Taylor-Klaus plays a young street girl kid and she's amazing. She reminds me of Arya from game of thrones (who I know you like, as anyone with a brain would). Those two are apart of the B and C storyline like the campaign team and Casino Indians in season 1-2. The difference is 1). They're interesting characters. 2). Great actors 3). Have great storylines. Basically, season 3 is the hunt for a suspected serial killer. Episode 1 (which is two episodes in one) is a bit eh, as there is some uninteresting exposition, but it really picks up from episode 3 and never looks back. The only thing you need to know that you had to see season 2 to understand, is the picture. Adrian (you'll learn who he is in season 3) drew a picture that Linden got a hold of in season 2. This picture sparks the hunt.
Burned through season 3 this week. Finished last night. Thanks for the recommendation. Pretty good stuff. Definitely more gripping than season 2 IMO. Reminds me in quality of The Bridge... or perhaps a smidge behind that. Broadchurch is neck and neck right there with 'em. PS: glad you're enjoying Misfits. It's gonna hit a lull in the middle of the series that you need to push through, and then it gets right back on track, if not better. Top of the Lake is a crime/drama mini series that heavily impressed me.... and Rake [Australian version] is soooo worth checking out just to see if it grabs you, especially considering there's not much out there like it sans Californication. Oh, BTW, when you're done with Misfits and need a vulgar, British, comedy fix to get you through withdrawals, The Inbetweeners does just the trick..... but then again it can stand up in its own right.
HBO are remaking Utopia for the American market. If anyone can do it justice, it's HBO, it requires a cable network to stick with the darker elements, as a non-cable network just wouldn't go there. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/utopia-remake-gone-girls-david-679813
If you have Amazon Prime account and haven't watched, "The Rebels" then please do and vote for it. The Rebels is a new football show that has Chad Lewis from Blue Mt State as a rookie unsigned 1st round pick as QB and other people you should recognize. And the owner of the LA Rebels is hottie Natalie Zea taking over the team after her husbands death.
I love CSI; although I still find myself really missing the original cast. I always feel like I've found treasure when I randomly find a rerun playing.
Anyone else feel like the universe is in just the slightest bit more harmony now that the Tonight Show is back in New York City?
It is cooler. For the first time ever, I actually have a desire to watch the TOnight Show. Fallon >>>> Leno.
the only 2 shows that are a "must watch" for me are 'the walking dead' and 'true detective'. back in the day, it was 'the wire' and 'dexter'. 'gold rush' on the discovery channel is pretty good too.favorite show of all time - 'martin'. i know damn near every episode word for word and can still laugh at the episodes 20 years later.
This is so typical of todays TV viewers and why there are few good series. Few people are patient enough for a build up, or a show that you have to put the phone / computer down and pay attention to.
Banshee; Mind numbing bull**** that I can't believe I watch. Sex, nudity & violence always win over common sense. True Detective: Brilliant writing & acting Ripper Street: On BBC. You have to cut through the accents Vikings: Ragnar Lothbrook; Power driven, quietly evil, slightly touched, charismatic. I could possibly go Bi for this guy.
I've watched most of Almost Human from my DVR in the past two weeks and really like it. Really hoping it gets renewed, but fearful that like most shows I enjoy, it wont be.
I've heard so much about the sex in 'Banshee,' but not one person has said it's worth watching for more than that. You're right about the attention span; it even happened to me with 'Helix'. It was only in the 6th ep that it REALLY took off and became what I thought it could be.
