When asked about Lito Sheppard's situation Monday, Eagles coach Andy Reid would only say "Lito's on our football team." The consensus still remains that Sheppard will be an ex-Eagle before or on draft day. Philadelphia is reportedly demanding a first-round pick, but will almost certainly be forced to lower its asking price by the end of the month. Eagles re-signed restricted free agent CB Joselio Hanson to a one-year, $1.417 million contract. Hanson, 26, made 52 tackles and broke up four passes as a sub-package corner in 2007. If Lito Sheppard is dealt, Hanson will be the Birds' nickel back.
UPDATE Eagles: Lito Sheppard trade update The News A league source said the Philadelphia Eagles have asked at least one team for a first-round draft choice in exchange for cornerback Lito Sheppard, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. A first-round pick would represent a healthy price tag for a player who has missed 14 games in the past three seasons because of injuries. Our View An Eagles source said that second- and fifth-round picks would be the least the team should expect in return for Sheppard. Another team source has consistently said that the offers the Eagles have received for Sheppard have been good enough that it remains likely the team will trade the cornerback. http://www.fanballnews.com/nfl/
