will there be a 2011 a season? seems the subject is under-explored in ever venue of expression. don't look good to me @ this juncture. not much info to hang your hat on in the media things to do: 1) college football is very entertaining, some swear by arena football. 2) soccer is the number one sport in the world & the US has become competitive @ all levels of the game, making for an excellent substitute for the NFL. give it a shot, if you're not already a fan, you just might like it http://www.mlssoccer.com/ 3) the world won't end because of a handful of greedy owners & players. Friday night football @ your local high-school will survive & is a legitimate neighborhood alternative. 4) how can the fan-base apply input & pressure on the NFL to do the right thing?
Dood ..... feed me my own testicles if I have to replace the NFL with soccer.... Yep that me...Souring the milk of human kindness
they will all cave when the first preseason game is skipped and no one ones making any money. They're all so high and mighty right now cause its the offseason and nobodies losing any money yet (well, the owners and the players anyway). They'll cave when their wallets get lighter.
Remember that game the Afghani's were playing on horseback with a dead goat in Rambo III... Yeah, I'm gonna rewatch Rambo III....Wait a minute nevermind...hmmmm.. http://www.presstv.ir/detail/169791.html I'll probably see when the next live stream will be of Buzkashi.
I'm going to quote Jim Mandich here. I heard this on his evening radio show on QAM about 15 years ago, but I remember it like yesterday:
5) check out Rugby if you like. Its the father of our game and is available in 3 major leagues : http://www.superxv.com/ or http://www.premiershiprugby.com/home.php or http://www.magnersleague.com/ Also this Fall, in October & November, in New Zealand will be the Rugby Union World Cup..... http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/
point is there are other interests in the world to pursue, other than American Football @ the NFL level better to be prepared for the possibility of missing a season & think how to best replace
Friend ToddsPhins: garlic, soccer, women & sports (in general) are all good things Friend KillerPhins: 1) soccer is the most popular sport in the world 2) consider sauteing your testicles in butter & garlic before eating them. if properly prepared, I imagine it might be close to eating snails. you could pretend you are in a fancy french restaurant. remember, this will be a once in a lifetime event for you, whereas the NFL lock-outs & missed seasons are a recurring phenomena we have to live with as fans. better think about it & make the most out of it 3) it is sarcasm oft' sours the milk of human kindness & I'm not posting sarcasm. I'm absolutely serious, everyone needs to develop a back-up plan ( contingencies ) or face the consequences of the imprudent & ill-advised. this season is hanging by a thread & anything can happen
Im just going to jerk off about 7 times a day........up from my normal 4 times a day WITH football..... and before you joke about this, I am married, so have a ****ing heart.
good for you now there's a man with reasonable plan who may even wind up enjoying the lock-out if the season is ended Kudos!
Friend MonstBlitz:beauty is in the eye of the beholder there are other more attractive alternatives just waiting to be discovered better start looking maybe ice hockey?
Hiking, Mountain biking and skiing. Watching soccer and arena football is like sitting in a dentist chair waiting for your teeth to be drilled!
never said it was for everyone, what I said was: will there be a 2011 a season? seems the subject is under-explored in ever venue of expression. don't look good to me @ this juncture. not much info to hang your hat on in the media things to do: 1) college football is very entertaining, some swear by arena football. 2) soccer is the number one sport in the world & the US has become competitive @ all levels of the game, making for an excellent substitute for the NFL. give it a shot, if you're not already a fan, you just might become one http://www.mlssoccer.com/ 3) the world won't end because of a handful of greedy owners & players. Friday night football @ your local high-school will survive & is a legitimate neighborhood alternative. 4) how can the fan-base apply input & pressure on the NFL to do the right thing? this is a rhetorical question, the obvious answer is nothing can be done Friend NJFINSFAN1: Hiking, Mountain biking and skiing are excellent pursuits the conundrum: getting over a sport addiction is much like getting over a woman. the best, the fastest & only real cure for a woman is another woman think about it
Golf < Prison Rape < Hockey < Herpes < Minute-long nipple-twist < NASCAR < ... < Soccer < ... < Women's Tennis < Women's Beach Volleyball So as you can see, I find Soccer to quite tolerable. I can live without it, but I don't mind sitting down for a match; Best part is: NO COMMERCIALS (for entirety of the 2 halves)
fans do not control the NFL having said that there are other things in life. never put all your eggs in one basket. disappointment is always an expectation away. I humbly suggest: you govern yourself accordingly
Totally understand. Women think when a guy is married to you that he should be spanking it less, not more....... They just don't understand. <sigh>
i hold no doubt that there will be a season .... likely a shortened one - but a season none-the-less, why: 1- players can't hold out all year .... MOST can't afford it - even with a stipend from the NFLPA (wait, didn't that disband ....hmmmmmmm) 2- owners will want a SB, no matter how short a season that leads up to it .... FANS will remember a year with no SB .... by the end of SEP they will be in camp, with games starting before Halloween ... they need at least an 8 game season before playoffs ....
Agree with this. Besides, I suppose there's always the possibility of replacement players again? And, before anyone chimes in with they're "I'm not watching a bunch of scrubs" talk, I just want to go on record...I liked that movie. I especially liked that hot cheerleader that was Keanu Reeve's love interest.
a brief answer to "what?' on soccer: the US is competitive in world soccer. it is the #1 youth sport in America & the #1 sport in the world. more American kids participate in soccer than all other sports combined & the results can be found in the excellent level of play @ the MLS (professional) level. many American players are snatched up by European teams in their effort to enrich their respective franchises. no one enters a game against the US team thinking it will be anything less than extremely competitive. we have played well @ the highest levels, winning games against the perennial masters of the sport: Brazil, Germany, Italy & Argentina. our women's soccer is a dominant force in the sport consistently in the top three on the world venue. I believe it is only a matter of time before we take our place as a perennial power-house in the most popular/dominating sport in the world. mathematically, as many men like soccer as like women. it's a fact. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_FIFA_World_Cup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTmbZvmsDL4 www.ussoccer.com/Teams/Development.../Academy.aspx www.ussoccer.com/.../Development.../Academy-Overview.aspx www.ussoccer.com/Teams/Development.../FAQs.aspx www.txsoccer.info/t1622-klinsman-s-take-on-us-soccer-development www.yanks-abroad.com/rssfeed.php?id=6495 I am simply responding to postings on soccer. I am not advocating any sport over Dolphin Football, simply suggesting there are alternatives if the lock-out prevails. always good to have a backup plan in anything you do. think about it
