Logjam at Wr,Te,OLB what would you like to see happen?

It wouldn't shock me to see them trade Camarillo.

I was thinking "if" Greg C and David Martin were healthy, they would be really good trade bait and clear up the logjam while keeping some value for those two players.

As for T George...idk...in the CFL he played DT, but he has been working with the OLB's in Mini Camp.

to me, Charlie Anderson would also be decent trade bait, he is a 4-3 lb at heart.

I want to see our two rookies do well and make the team, we cant afford these two to become "wasted" draft picks. I like Anthony Armstrong and the potential he can bring, but Im sure we can stash him away on the PS again.

Wake has to make it IMO. I think we'll see T George, Q Moses, Erik Walden, S Kershaw, JD Folsom fighting to make the team. What happens, I have no idea... I don't know enough about these guys to even dare to comment.

Anthony Fasano & David Martin I feel are locks. I can maybe see Wilford and Martin fighting it out. Id love to dump Wilford, but who knows, maybe his transformation into a receiving TE could work? Only time will tell I guess. Haynos has a good shot at staying I think based on his size alone and if we can dump Wilford. Then there's Nalbone, if he really shows something, probably ends up fighting with Haynos to see who gets stashed on the PS.

Just taking a shot in the dark here of course... Lets see what happens when they all hit the field this weekend! :up:

David Martin... interesting. Not sure how much value he'd have, though. To be honest, I have no idea what Camarillo might be worth. What would you guess? A 6th rounder? Maybe a 5th? I don't know... Eh... don't know about that one. We got him as an UFA just last year, and you just gotta know any interested team would most likely just wait and see if we cut him.

About the only other guys I can see on the roster that would be worth anything at all would be... Jason Allen and Ted Ginn, and I don't think there's a team out there that would give anything even close to what we gave up to get them. Ginn, I wouldn't trade, anyway.

Maybe we could trade London back to the Giants. :lol:

I notice you left out Brandon London and I think for good reason. I personally have trouble seeing him sticking on the roster. He was suppose to be a red zone target but I don't recall him being used a lot last year, which makes me wonder how far he is in his development at the position. He's a good special teams player but Brian Hartline can do that as well.

I could see Charlie Anderson sticking on the roster, despite some of his struggles last season. The reason is because when it comes to pass coverage, in which he'll be required to cover the flats, he has experience. At Houston, he was a weak side linebacker and I believe Houston runs Cover 2 quite a bit but also mixes it up with Tampa 2. In the Tampa 2, the weak side linebacker takes more coverage duties than the strong side linebacker and that fits well here because he would be covering the flats on passing situations. I could see him rotating at weak side linebacker or maybe even get some duties at inside linebacker in some emergency situations, as wild as that may sound.

J.D. Folsom will be an inside linebacker in my opinion so I'd leave him out. That leaves Anderson, Wake, Roth, Porter and Taylor. Last year I believe we kept five OLB's and those are my five this year. If we keep six, I think it's Walden.

At tight end, I'm going with Fasano, Martin and Haynos. I'm not sure about Wilford yet. He is a quality blocker in space but I haven't seen him in-line and I wonder how he does there. I say Haynos just because I've seen him play at the spot. It could be anyone really.

Good catch, to me London is also good trade bait, we re-upped him but the contract was smallish.

Completely agree. Though I know My 2 Cents has given some pretty good thoughts on Folsom.

I'm not sure what to make of Nalbone, honestly. I don't have any tape on him so I can't form an opinion and I recall reading that he was dropping passes or something, which worries me. Haynos doesn't stand out to me and I'd rather keep Martin over him.

KC likes what they have at tight end, apparently. I believe they are pretty comfortable with Brad Cottom and O'Connell. Agree on Camarillo, though I wouldn't complain about keeping him.

I want to see Brennan Marion take Camarillo's spot and average 30 yards per catch, which opens up Bess to have over 130 catches this season because teams are just scared to death about the deep game with Marion and Ginn on the outside.

Well the reason why KC would be attractive is Martin can do some of the things Gonzo can do and he is a FA at the end of the year so they aren't married to him.

As for Greg C, Cassel has Bowe and...he also works cheaply and is a team guy.

And I'd bet Ireland is will be watching the injury wire like a hawk trying to move some guys, Anderson would be a simple trade and he also works fairly cheaply.

imho, this is the preseason we take a page out of the Patsies book and move some of the players we have developed, we have talented players who are behind even more talented players, that is an ideal situation for a trade to happen.

And I can't see us cutting Wilford, to me it's a pride thing on the part of Ireland, if he can move DMart (who was incredibly productive last season) in order to keep Wilford he may pull the trigger on a deal.

To me, Marion has had it soo rough, I'd love to see him make the practice squad, the guy was living in the JC locker room for pete's sake, the 5,000 a week practice squad money would be like a million dollar check every week.

Sometimes I like it when the underdog catches a break, and Marion needs a proper rehab period, it was 7 months ago or so he had the ACL, to expect him to compete effectively now is a bit of a stretch.

The only other player it makes any sense to trade is Ted Ginn, and I don't see it happening, "true" Ireland loves 2nd round picks, but to me that could happen, not when Greg C is more movable.

Put it this way, Ireland worked Jerry Jones for Fasano and Akin A, the flippin' Lions worked Jerry Jones in the Roy Williams deal, they could do that because JJ has a rep as a softee, Ireland doesn't want that reputation.

I agree that we drafted his replacements but it doesn't make much sense to me to off load a player if you have an injury.

Yea, that is my realistic goal or putting him on Injured Reserve all season and having him work out next week. I believe he gets paid for that.

I really want him to make it and dominate. This is one of those few heart string tugging stories that tugged my heart strings.

Hell when he was given a place to live it was at a person's house who wasn't doing THAT well.

They were asking for a seventh rounder and then cut him a week or so later if I remember correctly.

I would like Wilford to stick around. I know he was terrible last year, but you never know. Last year, we had alot of players suprise us and play to a level we didn't expect them to. Maybe Wilford can be that player this year.

I am more concerned about ILB than any other. I wonder why everyone is so high on Hartline, I just don't know enough about him. And yes it sure would be nice if we collected some draft picks for a couple of these guys like the Pats do every year, but I just am not sure we have the talent to do that.

i dont think the cap hit on Wilford is as huge this year as it was if we did it last year... i think he'll be gone to be honest, though he'll be versatile which is something our coaching staff likes, if he can play TE, we know he can (kinda) play WR, so thats something that could help him...

as for these logjams, i think a lot are insurance policies, we dont know how Cam will recover, maybe he'll be PUP'd for the beginning of the season to fully heal and we can see what an extra young guys can show... you never know when an injury can occur (knock on wood, but just saying) so having this depth this early is nice and gives us some insurance for any (knock on wood again, knock on everything, throw salt, etc) injury that occurs in training camp...

No disrespect to Pennington, but he can't get the ball down the field consistently. Ginn could run go routes all day, but defenses only have to defend that route for so many yards. It doesn't take long for Ginn to outrun Penny's range. :sad:

The guy I'd love to see stick is Joey Haynos, 6'7 270 pd Te's who can play do not come along very often, if he can play at all, especially if he can block, he would be one heck of a weapon.

He'd be like having a third offensive tackle out on the field, that does not come along everyday.
