This Tuesday I am starting my 3 days on Ragbrai. It's a week long event but I am going to do half of it.. then do the whole thing next year. Ragbrai is basically where you bike across the state of Iowa between 50 and 80 miles per day. I will be doing days of 53, 51, and 79 miles.

I was curious if any of you had experience with such rides and what you do during to help stay hydrated, stay loose, and not cramp up. I've been training since May for this and I am in fine shape for it... so that's not an issue. I just was curious if any of you had any good advice from experience.

I'd buy a mini tv to put on the handlebars. I'd get too bored with riding that far

Well I'm riding with two of my good friends. Not to mention it's not like I'm on a stationary bike with nothing to see but the same old thing.

Bring lots of ibuprofen. And drink lots of water. Bring electrolyte powder to put in the water too. You might consider bringing a spare set of cycling shorts too. When mine get really sweaty from riding for 3 hours or more, they start to feel weird.
