Home Schedule: Denver, KC, Philly, Washington, NE, Jets, Buffalo, AFC South (Tenn as of right now) Away Schedule: Oakland, SD, Dallas, Giants, NE, Jets, Buffalo, AFC North (Cleveland as of right now) 2 west coast trips suck, as do 2 trips to the Meadowlands. That being said, it isn't a horrible schedule in terms of who we play...but we can expect quite a few cold weather games. The key thing is that the home schedule while not flashy is semi attractive. You have Vick coming in, Denver possibly led by Tebow, and a resurgent KC team. Butts are going to needed to be put in the seats for these games. There is some drawing power, but like I said it isn't all that flashy. So what does Ross do to fill those seats for next year?
Unfortunately a lot of those seats will be filled with bandwagon Philly & Tebow fans. Just get ready for it. Our ticket base will be down and lots more to be sold on single game basis. Just have to admit it, these guys blew their chance here, and killed our chances for greatness for probably until at least 2014 or 2015.
Also, the AFC West pairings changed this year. So from what I've seen we host Denver and Oakland and go to San Diego and Kansas City.
I do not know how it's so difficult to see. We lost two games on special teams alone! (gulp) That seems to be over.
Two trips to the Meadowlands isn't a big deal. They haven't lost there since '07. Tbh, the one thing Sparano has going for him is being 4-2 against the Jets and 3-0 in Jersey.
Everything I've been hearing lately says that they'll get a deal done and there will be a season. I honestly don't see how they couldn't. The NFL is way too big nowadays and there is so much money involved. I dont know what I would do without football. I'm begging them to come to an agreement.
I also heard on the pregame show that whether or not a deal gets done there will still be a draft. You just can't trade players without a new deal.
You'd watch that new football league coming in....and in the process you'd see a heck of a lot of NFL players jump ship for the more attractive offer. If the league is really stupid enough not to settle this by Feb, there may not even be an NFL anymore.....which would make the new league owners instant billionaires. Thousands of folks tied to the NFL on both sides would be in bankruptcy court....they'll sign the deal. I mean, if we still had a Miami team and we got to draft the whole league over again, would you really cry if we were the Hippos (or whatever) instead of the Dolphins? There's absolutely no way either side would let that happen, and it's exactly what this new league will try to do.
Speaking of next season and the schedule, has anyone heard how they will determine the extra 2 games if they go to the 18 game regular season?? Would mean 1 extra home and road game.
