Good game, the offense got going a bit finally. Dont really understand taking the lefty Eveland out and bringing a righty in to pitch to a lefty batter, but I'm glad they did Big series win, hopefully we can end strong going into the break.
At least we wont have to see him for awhile. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-inoa070308&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
clement finally had a break out night with 2 run homer in the bottom of the 8th, for his second of the night..his first shot was a bomb too...........morrow just saved it 7/7(opportunities) no1 can hit him, he has been one of the best relievers........they can't lose this series with the tigers but it can be a 2-2 tie if tigers win tomorrow...but still its been 5 series since they lost one......the fever is coming back!!
damn lost it in the 15th inning..jamie burke who was catching today actually pitched the top of the 15th...crazy stuff
Congrats to the Halos that made the all star team. Saunders, Santana and K-Rod are having great seasons. And Vlad will defend his title in the HR Derby.
Vlad decided not to defend his title in the HR derby Oh well, hopefully the rest does him good. Hopefully not going to the All-Star game offends him a bit, and lights a fire under him for the 2nd half of the season.
i wish brandon morrow would make the team, i just don't see it happening..............we have a handful of fans in here happy harden is not in the AL west anymore...hell even the AL
I don't want to talk about it again... I voiced my opinion in the trade thread. I'll briefly say this though. Beane got great return for Dan Haren. He got great return for Nick Swisher.... ...he got a bag of **** for Rich Harden.
Scioscia needs to get Rivera more playing time. The guy has legit power and can hit for average if given the chance to play everyday. GMJ plays better defense, no doubt, but his bat is a liability to a team that has trouble scoring runs. I want to like GMJ, but when he's hitting low .200's for most of the season he makes it difficult.
SI power rankings and team MVPs. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...lice/07/10/power.rankings/index.html?bcnn=yes
he's playing out of his mind! its crazy, i hope he stays clean now that he got his life back on track
Kendrick seems to have found his power stroke. Guy is a stud. Imagine how different this team would be if the Marlins had accept our trade? I think it's worked out alright for us, as good of a player as Cabrera is.
Blind faith as per usual with Beane trades. I"m not sure what they got back in return, but i'm sure someone will step up and prove it was a good trade in hindsight. On the surface I"m not happy. Especially because Gaudin was thrown in. He should be in the rotation over Blanton. I guess we'll see tonight what this Gallagher has, he'll be in tough facing the halos' and especially with Kendricks bat coming around since the injury. As unified pointed out, i'd be happy with a split, and at least one Krod blown save, (thank you josh hamilton for the highlight of the week for a's fans!) I thought krod was going to cry, which in turn would make me smile
king felix perfect through 3 on his first start back since the mets game....sniff sniff...i smell perfect game
I guess this last series woke me up to the realization that Texas is actually a pretty good team. That lineup is scary (even without Bradley). If they can just get serviceable pitching they can continue this run. They're a pitcher or two away from really competing imo.
Tonight we get to see two of the guys Oakland got from the Cubs vs the Angels.cant wait to see how they look. Go A's
Gallagher and Murton both looked good. Murton had a couple RBI and made a nice play in the field and Gallagher kept the Angels offense down all night. Hopefully this takes care of the A's offense for the weekend, for them to score 9 times is pretty unheard of.
I guess the Angels had 11 runs yesterday so I should have seen this embarrassing offensive output coming. This 9-2 beat down is messing up our usual 3-2 pitching duels; stupid Garland!
No doubt,I know the angels can play much better than they have tonight. Gallagher looks pretty good so far, same for Murton.he made a couple nice catches. we just need to keep it up and not use all our offense in one night seems everytime Oakland scores alot in one game, they struggle the next few games.
Hindsight is 20/20, but it would have been nice if he had the surgery when this came up back in Spring Training. Now we'll be without him next year as well. Hopefully Adenhart is ready or the Angels will have to sign some serviceable starter for next season.
It's alright DS...Eveland is pitching tomorrow. Bet on at least 5 Halo walks. Dude has had a tough time throwing strikes his last few starts. I'm glad Murton did alright for himself. Anything and I mean ANYTHING that keeps a glove out of Jack Cust's hand is a good thing. An outfield of Murton, Gonzo and Sweeney is pretty good defensively.
What a nice game, but i suspect lots of walks from eveland tomorrow. The new kids played awesome tonight. Car gon continues to impress. Gotta say besides his curve, Gallagher looked pretty comfortable tonight, with good command. And the gun was recording some good speed from him. Not bad for a 22 year old. Should be interesting to watch Harden tomorrow and see what kind of debut he has with the cubbies. And DonShula i agree the rangers have a scary good team if they could get some pitching emerge. Not even good pitching just like 5 runs per game pitching. Man Young, Kinsler, hamilton etc etc can hit. That team is built to put up runs.
* Angels Enter Mix For Fuentes When we last checked, nine teams had expressed interest in Rockies closer Brian Fuentes at some point: the Marlins, Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Phillies, A's, Cubs, Cardinals, and Rays. Today Ken Rosenthal adds a tenth team to the mix: the Angels. The Rays are considered the frontrunner. Rosenthal did a phone interview with Fuentes, asking about his geographic preference once he becomes a free agent. Fuentes notes that he's a West Coast guy, but most importantly he wants to remain a closer.
Good article explaining why it's vital that the Angels resign Frankie. If they can come up with 50 mill for the likes of GMJ they have to find the cash to pay K-Rod. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-streeter13-2008jul13,0,5915424.column And one on Santana's impressive night. I like his quote lol, he should concentrate like that more often. Gotta love the guys confidence. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-angels13-2008jul13,0,7618107.story
