I've been offered Marshawn Lynch for Andre Johnson. There are 3 wr slots each week, my wr's are A. Johnson, Fitzgerald, Owens, and Cal. Johnson. Two rb slots each week, my rb's are S.Jackson, M Jones-Drew, Julius Jones, Kevin Smith, and Jon. Stewart. What do you guys think I should do? Do I really need Lynch with that crew? Any insight?
I guess you could make the argument that Lynch would be an upgrade over everyone else besides Jackson. Man, your team is nasty either way tho. If you have another solid backup WR then I guess you could go for it.
I say make the trade. A receiving corps of Owens, Fitzgerald, and Calvin Johnson is already absurd, while Steven Jackson's performance will suffer from his holdout. (You can't miss all of camp and show up in the regular season unscathed. Reference Larry Johnson last year.) Definitely do that trade. Your RB squad could use the help, IMO. I would start Lynch and Jones-Drew depending on how Steven Jackson does in the rest of the preseason. If you're really uncomfortable, see if you can get him to add a receiver to the deal, someone like Donald Driver.
I declined it, I don't wanna make him any stronger. He's weak at WR, and I'm strong at WR and RB, imo. I told him to throw in a 2 for 2 deal w/ A.Peterson and we'll talk. Thanks for the replies.
You're not getting Adrian Peterson for Andre Johnson, unless he's a total idiot (and if he's THAT desperate.) Besides, honestly? Peterson scares me. For a guy who goes in the top three, there are weeks where he'll do nothing, and then he's practically guaranteed to miss games because of injury.
You're on the losing end of that scenario, IMO. Holt is a hall of fame WR, but that's a bit of an overinvesting in a Rams offense that could be very good or very bad. Who does he have on his roster?
His Wr's - Holt, R. Williams, C. Chambers, S. Smith His RB's - A. Pete, M.Lynch, R.Brown, L.Maroney, W.McGahee
I'm thinkin I'll just roll w/ my squad as is. My qb's are D.Anderson and M.Schaub, I think I'm loaded..especially if any of the rookies panout (Stewart, Smith).
Stewart will definitely pan out. (I've said for the longest time that he'll be starting by week 6. I'm not sure if that applies now, but I do think at some point this season he'll take over as the #1 RB.) Kevin Smith has a very good chance to make noise as well. I like Matt Forte more than Kevin Smith, but at least Smith will have Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson to keep guys out of the box. Don't blame you for sticking with your team. Just be wary of Steven Jackson.
I'd actually be pretty pissed if someone told me include Adrian Peterson and then we'll talk. I'd just stop the discussion right there. People are fickle, gotta watch out for that. They can try to screw you over on purpose.
^I didn't mean Lynch and Peterson. I meant Peterson and a weak WR for Johnson and a solid back like Drew or something.
Well, I did it. Lynch for Johnson. With MJD goin down last night with a sprained ankle, I needed some insurance at RB. Although Stewart and Smith looked GREAT last night. Oh well, we'll see how it works out.
