you need to have a certain sata chipset to do the firmware update, and if you dont' you can buy a pci one, but...just seems like a pain ...free games sure are tempting though

As long as your games are stealth patched properly, Microsoft can't tell if you're using a burned copy or a real one. Newer firmware hacks won't even let you boot games that have bad stealth patches. It's a pretty reliable system.

The PS3 is easier to hack up than the 360... The trick is, Blu-Rays are very expensive and burners are generally in the upper hundreds still. So they're looking for ways to play Blu-Rays off the HD. As of now, there's no way to play Blu-Rays off the PS3 HD. If you have a Blu-Ray burner, then the PS3 is simplest thing on earth to mod.

Games designed to play on the HD (Warhawk, Gran Turismo, or any DL game), are easily downloadable and playable.

Anyway its still pretty difficult for us poor people to mod a PS3, but thanks for the info. mor.

However if I am understanding this right you are saying downloadable PS3 games are relatively easy to mod (for play)?

 

Maybe i was talking about the difficulty of playing full games (meaning burned Blu-Rays) due to how much it all costs.

Downloadable games are simple, and worl perfectly.

 

Some quick notes on Madden09:

- The Dolphins are terrible (surprise surprise) and rated at 67

- I like the Madden IQ difficulty setting. It really does seem to work and provide a challenge to you as you get better and play more. You can see it update itself (to get easier or harder in any given category) everytime you play.

- It looks very good. Finally a real graphical fix.

- You can play Madden 93 in it (with updated rosters -- Which means the Dolphins still suck).

- NFL Head Coach is nowhere to be found (that I can see), and I do have the collector's edition.

- The first scenario listed in the "Madden Moments" mode is last year's Phins VS Ravens game and it's called "Phins get a Win"
