I hate the new pass rushing controls. I can't get off any blocks. I get no pressure with Wake, Vernon or Jordan.
You're doing something wrong then.. I'm averaging 5 sacks a game online in 9 games (the default online All-Pro settings). I also use the standard camera angle, I don't mess with the D's perspective one. I had one game that I had 5 sacks with just Wake, and in my last game I had 3 just with Odrick. Usually getting one/two tackles for loss on run plays too. You have to get a good jump off the snap (says "perfect") with Right Trigger on Xbox as soon as the ball is snapped. Then once you make contact with the blocker.. A is speed move, that is Wake's best move. X is power move, Odrick, Starks, and Vernon that's their best.
I'm not sure if Byroan is playing on PS3, but the jumping the snap option isn't on the ps3 version of the game. I usually play as LB or SS, so I haven't really tested getting off blocks or anything yet.
Yeah, I don't know how the older systems Madden is working.. I've been on next gen since day 1. I'm up to 10-1 online now, the read option teams are starting to give me issues.
It is just a game, but when EA has a press conference pimping their "Player Awareness 2.0" and the fact that 500 calculations per second are now capable for each AI unit with the next gen, and then you have the things that were outlined in the videos I posted in the spoiler very apparent, something is wrong. Among the problems listed, lead blockers don't lead block, I heard on kick offs blockers run straight by everyone to the point they are near or in the tunnels. That is unacceptable. Especially since these issues have been present for some time now. So what exactly did they change other than upgrading graphics and a few animations? It is a game and I am glad the majority of people are having fun. For me, it would be more frustrating than anything I think. I pass.
I agree with everything you're saying, I wish all those things were fixed too (stuff like that doesn't happen all the time though either).. but I'm still gonna play it every year regardless. I'd still play it every year if it was still on Sega and all that was changed was a roster update. I think the good, especially with this years version, outweighs the bad.
https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/B6...p4?versionId=U9hUJx949coRb5x2QQanmpddLTPCJUhF You remember that time in a game when a guy just got flipped 40 feet in the air....oh wait.
I don't know how it differs on there then, from what I've read seems like they left a lot off the previous gen versions. And that's what I use to play on, but all online ranked games are set to All-Pro.
Im getting the feeling that the PS4 and XB1 versions are for all intents a different game. I play XB1...(switchback7)... From my perspective..this game feels like the first game I can say seems next gen. Love the defensive game play now...and visually on a large HD TV..wow.. One thing.. WTF is Ultimate Madden I dont get this in the slightest
I was about to post the same thing with PS vs Xbox... I wonder if it has anything to do with Sony's non cooperation with EA Access, and if any of that non-cooperation bled over to Madden.
Good post, I've been following Moody for awhile now. Wish the gaming publications would see through a lens like his instead of getting hung up on all the bull**** bells and whistles EA tries to pander to the public every year.
To me that shows it takes more than 500 calculations per second to create a real football game. 20 calculations per second per player on the field.
I just played a guy, and was 8 for 227 and 2 tds with Wallace...and I lost. Lol. My defense needs work. Also had 3 dropped balls by Landry and his 90 catch rating. Garbage.
LOL. You guys are probably going to laugh at me, but don't judge. I just installed Madden 08 on my PC....the last year they made it for the PC, just out of curiosity. The graphics are still better than PS3 and Xbox and I found mods that update rosters, player pics and profiles, uniforms (including new Bucs), stadiums, etc. More importantly, gameplay is pretty solid. I used to love that game and may give it another serious go with the big community still out there.
I think that is my favorite year as well. I wish they focused more on gameplay rather than graphics. Honestly do we really need better graphics than the Ps3? All that processor power could go to AI and physics.
Anybody have any draft strategies other than following storylines... does the production grade signify anything?
Just played the regular season opener against the Pats, and lost. I was up 10-3 at the half, but they scored a TD on the opening drive of the second half and went on to take a 20-10 lead before I scored a late TD to make it close. All Pro, default sliders. Running the ball was very challenging, but I almost always have trouble with that defensive scheme as its perfect for stopping what I do on the ground. New england stuck with their running game the whole time and ran for about 120 yards, which is rare in Madden. Still working out the new controlls and cameras, but its good to start the regular season with a good game from the CPU. Now I want to go beat the crap out of the Bills though, lol.
Xbox One Version of Madden NFL 15 Offers Some Advantages Over PS4. http://www.pastapadre.com/2014/08/2...madden-nfl-15-offers-some-advantages-over-ps4 Minor stuff, but interesting none the less. The time difference in simming stands out.
He mentions player controller feeling tighter on the xbox. This is my first time on the PS4, and the control definately doesnt feel as tight as previous Maddens were on the PS3. Maybe its better physics/player model differences, but I feel like guys are a lot harder to change direction with this year, such as after catching a short pass and turning upfield.
I didn't like how last years felt at all on any system.. this year I just started a connected franchise with a created running back (#34 ftw!) and the movement is so much tighter. Not gonna say more so on Xbox like he did, but just in general. I can just barely bump the stick to a side, like 50% of it's range and my player makes a quick cut and I'm off in that direction. If I move the stick all the way to a side then it's a bigger juke move. Only thing that's a bummer, but funny as hell to me, is trying to fit through the holes in the line.. if you're off at all you just get stuck or bounce off an O lineman for a tackle.
I think that Ive been "tackled" by my own OL than the opponents so far. And I absolutely cannot run outside whatsoever (using the exact same playbook I have for years - Packers). When I go to cut upfield, the player just kind of hesitates and runs in place, and gets tackled. Same goes for screen passes to the RB and WR. They've been a big part of my offense, and are almost useless thus far for me.
Outside runs are difficult for me too, only had a few work half way decent. Either the DE gets off his block way too early or pushes upfield and cuts me off or the DB/Safety on that side fly up and get me before I can cut up. Most of the big runs I break are up the middle or off tackle, I do like a few of the counter runs also. WR screens work when I'm controlling the QB, sometimes I have to give it an extra second for the other WR to get on his block, but in CF (connected franchise) they blow. RB screens I'm killing though, online games or in CF.
WR screens have been a go-to 1st and goal play for me for years. Its killing me. So far, any running sucess that Ive had it when I call a pass play with a spread formation, then audible to a run up the middle if the DBs play me tight. My longest runs have been of the 7-8 yard variety though, not counting a few read option runs where I broke into the open before sliding down.
Sweet. At least I know I am not the only person with this issue. The whole cutting upfield thing is so annoying i am almost to the point of letting the computer run after the catch.
I read Donny Moore has been working on them and will be sometime this week, earliest being Thursday (today).. but nobody knows for sure. http://fansided.com/2014/09/01/madden-15-rosters-coming-later-week/#!bPIfJo Side note, I added you on Xbox One. Whenever you wanna play a game let me know.
Okay now it says the rosters are done (53 player squads plus practice players), waiting on approval by Xbox and Playstation.. Should be able to download later today barring an unforeseen issue, worst case scenario tomorrow. http://fansided.com/2014/09/04/madd...=Network&utm_campaign=RelatedCategory#!bPJxJc
For what its worth, Ive found this year's Madden to have to most appropriate difficulty of any football game I can remember. Through eight games with the Fins, I'm 6-2, losing to the Patriots and Packers, getting very close wins against KC, and the bears, solid wins against the Bills and Chargers, and blowing the doors off of the Raiders and Jags. Different teams play differently and better/worse, so its not the same experience if you're playing a great team or a horrible one, as many previous Madden and NCAA games have been.
All-madden or all-pro? I played All-pro against the Browns in a "play now" and won pretty handily. I'm not sure of the difficulty since I have only played a single full game, but I am worried I'll be able to comfortably win all games on all-pro.
