First play out of the WC, Pat White to Ginn for 56 yards. I think I'm addicted to the WC plays.

Does anyone know if there will be a roster update on the 14th? I'd hate to have to wait to start my franchise mode

I'd have to go in there and look for it again but it was from this site:

    http://www.operationsports.com/

In any case, Mini-camp before pre-season was gone but they had brought about a weekly training deal where you could train your guys weekly.

So they still had it, just that you could do it weekly instead of yearly.

Now they just took it out competely.

I guess its not such a big deal so long as your young guys progress on there own even if they dont play much at first (like a rookie QB that is backing up say Peyton Manning).

Because its messed up if your guys dont go up, or hardly at all, if they sit as that would mean you would be forced into playing your rookies even if they arent ready.

Especially given that you only progress players ONCE a year, at the end of the year.

So if your rookie only goes up say 1 point. Your screwed until the end of next season when you can hope he goes up by more than a point.

I wish they'd do something about this. I'm sure 90% of the starting rookies in the NFL are much better after 4 or 5 games.

Isn't there progression after week 5, 11, 17 and then each playoff game that you play? Or was this just in the old versions of madden?

I haven't played much Madden in a while but Madden 05 definitely had progression at about four different points over the course of the season. Disappointing if they took that out.

So yeah. I don't like it. Looks better. Jump balls are actually winnable (but not as good as NCAA's). Catches toward the sideline still ends in an animation that will run you out of bounds. There's real gang tackles. But it just seems like it's all cosmetic. You're still gonna run into the same cheap blitz packages and players. God forbid your team has a less than stellar o-line, it's over. The teams' poster boys are all but unstoppable. Try and shut down Randy Moss, Adriane Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald, or any top tier skilled player. It ain't happening. I know what you're thinking, that's how they are in real life. It goes beyond that... They're really untouchable. Fitzgerald is an instant TD if the first tackler looses the tackle. His burst to full speed can't be touched by anyone. I simply picked WR screen over and over till he broke the CB's tackle, and boom. Score. He ended up with 5 TDs and 400 or so yards. Playing on All Pro. I dunno... I don't see the big whoop.

i think pressing the buttons is just an illusion that youre controlling the outcome. ive executed the thing perfectly and is still igves it to the other team. other times ive screwed up badly and won. its all BS. everything EA makes is fake.

I've felt that way for a while which is bad because I really want to get excited about Madden again. It's just not happening. I think I played 09 for all of two or three hours over the past year. I'm not buying it again, if my wife decides to pick it up for me again [like last year] I'm going to tell her to return it, feelings be ****ed.

Regardless of the matter in which you obtain a game, I think it would be most prudent to not play that game "in the open" before it is released, unless you are a part of the company that is releasing said game.

I'm using the "My Skill" option. It adjusts the game difficulty based on how you play. It seems to do pretty well.

Fight for the fumble is stupid. Does anyone use that?

Don't get me started on the Wildcat... There's nothing wild about it. It's just another run or pass play the way Madden dumbed it down. There's nothing "option" about this option formation. The announcers even say "The dolphins are using their option Wildcat formation"... But they're all predetermined plays. WTF

its a boom or bust formation. if you have a DE who can shed blocks, you dont gotta worry about the wildcat (from what ive seen).

Ummm...you can either run with the QB, or hand it off to the guy in motion. On passes, isn't there a guy that comes in motion, and then you can throw a pass, or just run? How are those predetermined?

the play either calls for you to hand it off to the guy in motion, or run with the QB. The player doesnt make the decision on the fly. So if i call a hand off WC, and get to the line and they're stacked on the weak side, I can't decide (Like Ronnie Brown does) to keep the ball.

That is how the Dolphins run the play. Ronnie doesn't decide to keep the ball. That is one of the negatives of having Ronnie running the wildcat.

ronnie decides either to keep it himself or hand to ricky depending on if he sees a crease.

That is not what I have read. I read it was predetermined in the huddle due to the fact they do not want someone with little experience handing the ball off have too many things to think about.

i read the opposite (i could be mistaken) - I was always under the assumption that the play was an option... Either hand off, or keep it. Keeping it could be a counter, or a predetermined hole.

i guess you could save an audible slot or 2 for WC audibles... but it still defeats the purpose of the "Wildcat Option" which is what the announcers call it in-game.

yea thats stupid. in last years madden some play books had a shot gun play, if you held X it handed it off to the RB sweeping right, if not, the QB keeps it on a run to the left. thats how the wild cat should be. if not, then its stupid and not the point of the real play.

QB option plays. those were good, especially the playaction passes.

they made it so you cant audible out of the wildcat also. so good luck changing the play.
