I'm watching them kiss Derrick Brooks *** at the moment, Zach deserves to go in at some point. Other two?? Meh
I agree. But NFL network is promoting the hell out of Dungy, Mcginest, Brooks and Harrison. They are having a special on it right now and no real talk of any of the three Dolphins careers.
this Pisses me off in a big way ZACH and Madison and Surtain are not getting in it sounds like no matter how good they are because they are dolphin players I mean ex players they will be left off this is discrimination and I may have to send Tim Bowens and Louis Oliver to kick those clowns asses.
Zach was "too small"....."too slow"...yet with his instincts, will, power and game planning....he was one of the greatest linebackers I've ever seen. He never had Urlachers 4.3 forty or Ray Lewis' strength and gift of gab. Yet, he performed or outperformed them on many occasions.......he deserves so much more than he gets.
Zach likely won't be first ballot, but if he doesn't get in its a travesty. Also Andre Reed not in yet is laughable. This needs to be his year.
McGinest? please... 2 time pro bowler... 86 sacks (43rd on the all time list) in 15 years, 582 tackles, 218 assists. Harrison? 2 time pro bowler, 2 time all pro 15 years, 34 INT's, 919 tackles, 286 assists 15 Forced fumbles... I would measure him against Ronnie Lott... 14 years, 63 INT's, 1,113 tackles. 16 Forced Fumbles Zach Thomas? 7 time pro bowler, 5 time all pro, 13 years, 1,106 tackles, 627 assists. Jason Taylor? just for ****s and giggles... 6 time pro bowler, 3 time all pro, 139.5 sacks (6th on the all time list), 530 tackles, 247 assists. Joey Porter has more sacks than Willie McGinest. So does Trace Armstrong and Simeon Rice FWIW. If Willie gets in on the first ballot, Jason Taylor should be an automatic.
well I may be in the minority but I know Surtain and Madison lead the league in int's and they made big plays so they too should be in the hall of fame. there are two players that dolphn fans seem to be forgetting and that 's Daryl Gardner and Tim Bowens.
They should vote them in TOGETHER. As in have their three heads attached to one neck. Think about THAT bust in Canton.
I really believe a lot of these "experts" really believe that Teddy Bruschi was a better LB than Zach Thomas. Sums up Zach's career...always overlooked.
First time I saw this little guy he changed things..Opening game '96 he knocked Jefferson clean out. Everyone wondered why Del Rio was cut. Sideline to sideline all day. Zach should be in the HOF. Great player. Pampa ,Texas native I think
First ballot is trivia. Thomas will get in I think and he deserves it. We had this discussion about Thomas couple of months ago. It is nearly a certainty that a player that was: a 5 time All-Pro with a consistent career at 10+ years is a HOF player. You almost don't even need a name and position. You just pencil it in. You add in the rest of the resume and few quotes from Peyton Manning and the like and it is just gravy Surtain and Sam were fun to watch, but not HOFs
Zach's best chance is if the Dolphins become a surprise playoff team and draw the national media spotlight. Stupid but true. I wish Dr. Z hadn't had a stroke. He was Zach's biggest supporter and HoF voter.
Zach didn't have the measurables but he sure as hell had the intangibles. He played like he ran a 4.4 at game speed, because he was smart enough to diagnose plays like a HOFer should. Absolute Hall of fame in my book. Too bad he was and is always over looked because of his draft status and relative anonymity with sub par dolphin teams durning his playing career.
ZT deserves it at some point but hes not a 1st ballot imo. The 1st ballot is for the guys theres no debate about...Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, LT, Jerry Rice, the guys who were unquestionably the best at their positions. Zach Thomas is not a no doubter except for Dolphin fans. I liked ZT for what he brought to the team but I never considered him better then Lewis or Urlacher at their peak. I wish Madison and Surtain had maintained their greatness a little longer. Another 2 pro bowls for each of them and we'd have a real discussion regarding them. They were, for a few years, the very best tandem in the league and both had excellent ball skills. No one, not Moss, Reed, etc ever got through a matchup wondering if the next matchup would be easier. If we had a better coordinator and coach we'd maybe have done more with their considerable talent which hurts ZT as well. Also, I have to agree with Fin-O on Andre Reed. I hate the Bills but that dude could ball. If he was a Phin we'd be wondering why he wasnt in the HOF.
I've heard 100 times about how Urlacher is a "first ballot" Hall of Fame player. Zach was better. Willie McGinest was a good player but if he is a Hall of Fame player then they better have money to expand the buiding because they will be admitting 20 guys a year. Are they really discussing Rodney Harrison? No. Just ****ing no. Derrick Brooks is a first balloter.
Case for Clayton. His career #'s are better than Swan. He's on par with Warfield, Biletnikoff, Berry and Stallworth. Sure he falls short of Rice, Largent and Irvin, but his numbers are still there. AND he still has great numbers when paired with another WR who got tons of balls thrown his way. Granted there's only 29 WR's in the HoF. I think Clayton should be there. Madison and Surtain were good. I don't know if they're HoF worthy. JT, absolutely. Thomas is borderline. I think it could go either way for him and it would make sense.
I'm not sure why Zack is borderline and JT an absolute. Zack was the better player for most of his career. Both should get in eventually. I can't believe NFL Network is even discussing McGinest and Harrison. Granted they are presenters there but seriously? Good players but never in a million years are they HOF worthy.
wow, you're a homer. In no way, shape or form should either Madison or Surtain be in the Hall of Fame. Hopefully Zach gets in HOF in first 5 years of eligibility.
Unfortunately the rings come first. McGinest has 3 SB rings. So does Bruschi, and I Harrison. Brooks with 1. Phil Simms used to call Zach the smartest defender in the game and it was a toss-up between him and Peyton Manning. It would be rediculous if Zach didn't get in...
How the **** is Willie McGinest and Harrison even considered? Jesus, there is certainly a kiss my *** club going on in the HOF.
The talent/performance bar is already too low. I guess that's to be expected given the name, Hall of FAME. It's who is famous, not who performs the best. If you play great in anonymity, you lose.
