I just found this and its a great little app that makes your XP system look like Vista. It does just about everything you can even chose to do transparencies. Its definitely worth a look if you want the Vista look but not the Vista OS. Here is the link if anyone wants to download it: http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/en.id.130.htm Also here are some extra apps that furthers the experience (These are separate and can be done without the download in the link above): This gives a thumbnail view of minimized windows: http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/num.197.html Further your transparencies: http://www.crystalxp.net/galerie/num.5139.html Here are some pics from the web as to how it will look (I couldn't figure out how to post my own pics): Welcome Screen: Desktop with dock: Thumbnail view of minimized windows: Start Menu: Warning There Are Risks Involved: Here are some precautions that you should be sure too take, plus add in common sense and read all directions as you always should before downloading anything onto your computer. Precautions to take : The BricoPack installation system developed by Bricomix (member of CrystalXP.net's team) allows you to modify your system's resources to apply a new theme. These changes are not entirely safe. So you must respect these rules : 1. Don't install another application like a BricoPack (ShellPack, XPize ...) with the Vista Inspirat 2 BricoPack ! It could damage your operating system or could make it impossible to return to Windows XP's default appearance. 2. Don't install a Microsoft Service Pack (SP1 or SP2) over a BricoPack. You must uninstall the BricoPack first and then install the Service Pack. After that, if you want to, you can of course reinstall the BricoPack. 3. Don't install a BricoPack on a "light" or "gold" version of Windows XP. These are already modified. The installation of a BricoPack will make your system unstable. 4. If you wish to unistall the BricoPack, go to "Start Menu >> BricoPack >> Vista Inspirat 2 >> Vista Inspirat 2 Config" then click on "remove". It's the only way to obtain a clean uninstallation of the pack. The "System restauration" doesn't uninstall the BricoPack perfectly. 5. Don't install on Windows x64 (64 bit)
Seeing that I already have Vista, do you have a site that will make my Vista look and run like XP? lol
Sorry no but that's your problem. I think these are great apps though as they give us XP users the look of Vista which is about all I care about especially with all I've heard about Vista. So its the best of both worlds.
Does it slow the computer down? Need details. I'd download it but I'm afraid it won't be as great as what I have now.
All the links I gave are in English except the thumbnail view thing but as soon as you launch it you can choose from the dropdown menu to use English. If I can do it anyone can, plus if it gives anyone problems you can blame me.
I've been called worse. No actually. I have a laptop with a 1.73Ghz processor (single core) and only 512MB of memory and have noticed no slowdown. I downloaded the total version with transparencies, you can download less than that if you have a really weak computer. It also downloads help icons for you as well so its pretty simple to use and lightweight. Basically its a theme and that's it (you know how you can set XP to look like Windows 98 its the same concept).
Its the first link that you provided that gives me that theme, correct? For some reason, I'm scared as hell to download it but I want to lol. EDIT: also, where are those instructiosn for installing?
I just wiped my hard drive a little while back anyhow. If it takes down my system Im only losing some compromsing photos of Luc.... not much.
It is the first link I gave as the rest are separate files that are not related but that I also wanted too pass along. Not quite sure what you mean by the instructions for installing but basically all you have to do is click download on the link I gave and then it will download as a .zip file and then you simply extract the .exe file or execute it (depending on your choice/program for unzipping). Bro, your making me nervous for even posting this. Its just a cool idea and the download has over 1000 reviews and 5/5 stars so it seems legit. It worked for me but as with any program things can go wrong. Yes and it was on the Maury show.
Whaaat? Vista sucks. Just sayin' is all.... Yeah, Alen has a problem with porn popups. He needs to know how much more his computer will slow down with this Vista thing.
LMFAO! I knew someone would bring that up! Didn't think it would be you though lol. EDIT: BTW, I blame Jenna Jameson and Limewire!
I chose Total because of the transparencies. The best thing to do is read each and see the one you like the best but if my comp works fine as weak as it is (512MB, 1.73Ghz single core processor) then if yours is better then that it should be fine. So I recommend total but its your choice. Also when your done, if it doesn't mess up your comp , tell me what you think.

System transformation is as old as the sun. My XP is set up to look like Mac OS X. If you want to look like Vista... just get Vista. It's better than XP.
May be, but not everyone knows about it. Nothing wrong with sharing something others may like. Plus do you have the link the the Mac OS X system transformation (I'm just curious not questioning its validity)?
Yeah, soo... after reading your post of possible hard drive loss, I canceled the transformation. I have Mozilla Thunderbird for my moms business and if that **** gets lost, I'm screwed.
