Yes, they would. Read some articles on road accidents. When an SUV is involved, they specifically mention that fact, along with the make and model, and write the story as if the SUV was sentient. "An SUV yesterday rolled off the top of a 20 story parking lot. The SUV, a Cadillac Escalade, killed 5 people and should be euthanized."
